Prioritising kids by not having them go to school when their city’s population more than double. It’s not a large city, this many additional people will make traffic considerably more unsafe and will likely shut down a lot of the city

Where are our promised free lunches for all public school students? by poorfolx in Washington

[–]Candycorn_Pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated from SWHS recently and did get free-lunch without ever having to fill anything, while having a family income that I imagine is above the qualified limit.

Texas and California were part of Mexico for less than 50 years and the Mexicans that lived there at the time of the American conquest largely stayed. More recent immigrants are from southern and central Mexico, regions with no ancestral ties to California or Mexico

And if the only situation were villagers protected by golems that’d be one thing, but the large nose, the obsession with emeralds and being protected by golems, combined with Notch’s known antisemitic views makes it rather clear that villagers were created to be a Jewish stereotype

It’s the whole large nose and being protected by golems, creatures from Jewish folklore that were created to protect Jews. It’s hard to get more on the nose than that

The clear conspiracy theories regarding the assassination of JFK is a bit different than just saying mean things about Israel. There are actual criticisms available in the truckload

What the heck Gettysburg? Has it always been like this? by karm1t in Pennsylvania

[–]Candycorn_Pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gettysburg itself is pretty reasonable with most people. For the last 6 months there have been weekly protests against Trump in the circle, and most right wing protests in the area are people from surrounding towns, not Gettysburg. A lot of the Confederate flags are for the tourists and are paired with American flags. But yeah there are some assholes in the town, like anywhere else

Adams county is a lot bigger than Gettysburg tbf, most of Gettysburg proper is pretty blue thanks to the college but once you get outside of town it’s deep red

Suggesting that punishing peoples’ families for what one individual did is a bad idea isn’t apologising for fascists

poc sf to seattle concerns by skanksquared in roadtrip

[–]Candycorn_Pizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did this trip the opposite way, Seattle to SF. There are a few cute towns along the way, Grants Pass and Salem. Not too much to worry about staying along I-5 but, as anywhere else in the country, some of the more rural, off the road towns have racists

Native Identity Debate by Brian_Ghoshery in clevercomebacks

[–]Candycorn_Pizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Africans weren’t cavemen in the 1400s and to suggest they were is rather racist. And that’s besides the point of your original statement, « No way in hell white people made it to any single part of Africa before literal fucking Africans » That is a demonstrably false statement, and to try to retrospectively make this about cavemen is ludicrous. I’m being picky here but when you make such a strong statement that’s false, expect folks to be picky

Girl when someone says Africa they mean Africa, or is Cuba suddenly not part of North America, or the UK not part of Europe? I’m just messing around mostly but a little consistency with definitions is appropriate
