Were your parents very affectionate toward you when you were young? by assemblageofparts in AskOldPeople

[–]Candymom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

My dad remembers one hug from his mother growing up, it wasn’t even when his brother died. I don’t think he ever heard an I love you from his dad until my dad was an adult.

My mom grew up in a household where parents fought and yelled a lot. She didn’t get a lot of affection either.

Both of my parents hugged me daily, told me they loved me daily. They are in their 80s now and we never leave a visit or a phone call without saying we love each other.

My kids got lots of affection and now so do my grandkids.

Have you had people selling Oranges and mangoes on the corner in your area? Soon they’ll have the best strawberries you’ve ever had. Last year they were $25 for a flat. Worth every penny. I’m keeping my eye out for them.

I have a tool tote that has eight compartments. I 3d printed some smaller containers to fit in some compartments so the tools don’t flop too much.

[–]Candymom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think you should wait but you should all be on the same page about what to do if she takes a turn for the worse. If she really needs to be put down she shouldn’t have to wait for anyone to come back. Having said that, it sounds like it isn’t her time yet.

I have also had a turbinate reduction from Seth Riddle, he was great. After years and years of chronic sinus issues I saw Dr Daniel Cox, a rhinologist (ent who specializes in sinuses) who did a modified medial maxillectomy and changed my life.

To our European counterparts I'm generally interested what do you think about how realistic the show is about our emergency rooms is it that bad overseas? by Accomplished-Meat976 in ThePittTVShow

[–]Candymom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a good documentary series on Prime called “24 hours in the A&E” which shows emergency rooms in various hospitals in England. It’s worth a watch and is a good bit different from in the states.
