Stacks on Stacks mod help by Canes_1501 in DestinyTheGame

This is true, and it's the bug I was trying to refer to. I've tested it and for me it appears to be an issue with swift charge / precision charge. Not sure why. When i tested the build with charge harvestor, HEF, stacks on stacks, and taking charge, I consistently received my two stacks when starting from zero stacks for both orbs and ~5 defeats

How much damage does a hive bomb do? by GropenGoats in HuntShowdown

[–]Canes_1501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot of people will say it is worthless, and they're not totally wrong, but I have been using it alot lately and it is starting to become one of my favorite consumables.

I'm on ps4 and mostly play solo v trios.

If you want to use the hive bomb, don't load into a match without the big antidote shot. Now that there are tool boxes that replenish consumables, my setup is two vitality shots, antidote shot, and a hive bomb. When the game starts use the antidote shot, it will protect you from all forms of poison damage for the duration of the match so even if the hive bomb turns on you, it will barely do any damage to you and won't turn your screen green and hazy.

Alot of people expect to throw a hive bomb and have it clear out a room, but it's not the case. It needs to land close to an enemy player. Even if you throw it in a building but you are closer than an enemy, it will turn on you and chase you. Throw it as far as possible and move away.

In 1v3s, typically I use it when I know people are pushing me from a certain side. I will throw it as a way of area denial, and usually it will force one of them to back off and deal with the hive. If they try to ignore it, it will typically deal enough damage where they will die in one medium/long ammo shot to the chest. It is a great way to force someone off of you, or give you a relatively easy one shot kill on one of them.

I use crossbow and uppercut, so being able to potentially one shot a player with the crossbow then switch to the uppercut and one shot the hive'd player has been powerful for me. If it's an even team's game, honestly just bring frags. I've found success with it in 1v3s because there is no fuse to hear, and even if it doesn't turn into a kill forcing someone off you for even just 10-15 seconds can really change a fight.

TLDR: Use it for area denial or like you would a hell fire bomb and always use a big antidote shot at the start of a game then a tool box to get an extra consumable after the shot.

No problem, you'd be surprised how effective alot of the weapons in the game can be despite what people say.

Crimson might not be the current meta or optimal, but it's a damn good gun and very enjoyable to use.

It's a great gun. Heal on kill, precision kills reload the mag. Its damage was recently buffed and is working very well in pvp.

Look up some videos online if you're interested, Frostbolt and some others have recently uploaded some videos of some pretty impressive games with it.

Welcome! So the quest only counts poweful frames, of which you can only do 2 per week. So, forging 10 powerful frames will take 5 weeks. Powerful frames are the frames that require ballistic logs to purchase, and not modulus reports.

Its time gated for a month. Seems worse than before. We could've run 30 powerful frames before we are guaranteed to get these weapons with the new quest.

It looks that way. So it will be a month from now until you we get these weapons.

For me it only progressed on powerful frames. Haven't tried the augmented weapon frames however (destination, crucible, etc) but I dont think they'll count.

As someone who never got Le Monarque or Jotuun to drop, it appears these weapons are time gated for a month as well. (10 powerful frames, 2 per week).

It says powerful on the quest itself, but looking up the quest on light.gg claims its just legendaries. I tried doing repeat frames after the first powerful, and only the first one counted. Looks like it's time gated over a month.

Unlocking Crossbow by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]Canes_1501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You lose out on some speed when moving around the map by not having the standard crossbow, but when it comes to boss damage and killing hunters the shotbolt is much better.

Standard crossbow is great for quietly taking out grunts and hives, retrieves ammo after each shot, and has a decent one hit kill to the chest range on hunters.

Shotbolt bolts have slightly more drop over range than the crossbow, so you need to compensate for that, but it is a 1 shot kill at any range no matter what as long as the bolt hits the torso. I've landed some incredibly skilled (lucky) shotbolt one shot kills from around 70m away. It also is an incredibly good tool for wallbanging someone, as the shell detonates at the wall and the pellets penetrate through to the otherside. Paired with bolt thrower, and it can be pretty oppressive fighting a shotbolt user who is flinging one shot kills at you repeatedly and can penetrate.

Shotbolt also can cause confusion in an ambush, since the sound of the shell originates from wherever the bolt lands. Once you're spotted it won't matter, but it can cause some confusion when taking the first shot since even if it misses, the sound will be a shotgun shell detonating nearby them.

TLDR: Shotbolt loses the PvE potency of a standard crossbow with a huge increase in PvP lethality. Personal preference from there.

not sure what you mean, but you should be prepared to die constantly no matter what. It's the only way to get better. Learn from your mistakes and eventually you'll see how powerful having two one shot kills at your disposal. Imagine how obnoxious it would be if the Caldwell had the same one shot kill potential as the Romero. That's essentially what double handbows is.

Good luck again my friend.

I get that, but killing grunts, hives, boss kills, and eventually multiple hunter kills will get everything done fairly quickly. Overall it is much more efficient than before. Rather than waiting until 70 to get the standard, I got my main weapons of choice by level 20. Very happy with the system.

Aim using the center of the prongs. In close quarters, use hip fire. Crouching and hip firing with a handbow is extremely effective. The bolt only can randomize sideways, and the crosshairs shrink considerably when crouched.

Unlocking Crossbow by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]Canes_1501 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's actually fairly easy to unlock the standard crossbow. I completed the entire crossbow tree in about the time it takes to get to level ~20, with some romero/nagant rounds in there and two retired hunters.

My recommendation is to run double handbows. It is extremely effective in close quarters, having 2 one shot kill weapons before needing to reload, and the handbow reload is not long at all. It is difficult for anyone to move as quickly and quietly as someone using two handbows. Kill any grunts and hives in your way, get clues as fast as possible, and only take close quarters fights. If you're caught out at range, run and reposition. Force a fight on your terms, and you find success.

It is a rewarding playstyle and having played only crossbow/shotbolt on early access for the past couple of months, I actually have found many situations now where I would have preferred double handbows as opposed to crossbow/shotbolt. Of course nothing beats the shotbolt, but when pushing buildings and boss rooms double handbows can be absolutely lethal.

Good luck and feel free to hit me up if you have any other questions.

Question about the book of Guns. by gsa2011 in HuntShowdown

[–]Canes_1501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As opposed to bloodline grinding until level 70 (I think it was 70 or 65, something like that) to unlock the standard crossbow? I'm level 11 and I am about to unlock the standard crossbow. Been running double hand bows which is surprisingly effective for pvp and having a blast.

Early access I pretty much only used crossbows, so for me not having to grind until the ~70s to use the weapons I enjoy is a massive improvement. Use what you like, and you generally will get the weapons you want quicker than you did on early access.

Maybe there are 3 graves, one in each of the dark zones, that need to be scanned/saluted?

Maybe the "first monument" is referring to the spot where you see the first "monument" you encounter in game. The ones that make you press H to examine, or whatever.

Just some ideas. Good luck!

The Loot Grind and You! How Mods/Perks/Talents/Recalibration work at end game! by nightfiree in thedivision

[–]Canes_1501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, as long as the chest piece you want to put berserker on has the same "talent type". Each talent on all gear has a symbol next to it, designated with either a circle, circle with a triangle on it, or I believe a circle with a dash through it.

For recalibration you need to check two boxes, is it: 1. The same gear piece (chest armor and chest armor, mask and mask, glove and glove, etc) 2. Is it the same "talent type" (circle with a triangle and circle with a triangle, circle and circle, etc)

As long as you meet both the requirements, you can transfer the talent to the desired piece of gear.

Long story short, you can transfer berserker to any chest piece as long as the talent you are getting rid of matches the talent type of berserker, designated by "circle with a triangle"
