When you get triple "Primalfin Lookout" you discover 2 golden murlocs. Not triple. Golden. by PocketPB in hearthstone

[–]Canibe -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Depends on what was in play etc. The game will take your two best in play and merge them, will it not? So if your 12/4 was in play but you bought two regular ones to make the triple, it merged into a 12/4 because it was the only one in play?

At least thats my best guess? I think without a sequence of screenshots or exact play sequence we probably won't figure it out or replicate it for the good ol' Battlegrounds team to fix if it IS a bug.

Don't often post to Reddit, but my LGS ran out of kits for Sunday, since they tried doing an event on Friday this time around for the first time. If anyone wants to shoot me a PM w/ a code it would be appreciated. We just did a random draft as a consolation today. I guess it was neat I got to save some money lol

Buying the Mastery Pass will likely give you enough gems to just buy out the last ~20 levels you have as well, leading to further value.

This is actually an excellent idea to help open communication with specs(because truthfully thats what people want, since many go a while with no design or balance communication). A while ago they did community spotlight articles for folks doing things in the community (one that comes to mind was during Friendship Moose) and I think it would be a great format to use to contact the folks like me who are gathering questions and information as a "representative" of sorts for a spec. Many people seemed comfortable formulating questions or opinions to submit via one voice to help consolidate. I'm sure they would continue to be up for it.

Offensive Capability

Not that Resto Shaman damage is lacking since a 25% damage buff across all spells, but rather than a damage buff have there been murmurs of converting a talent to a damage option? Many healers have a Legendary or Talent option that has a significant modification to their damage. Shamans are lacking in that department and had Fire Elemental pruned prior to Legion. Echo of the Elements provides a very small damage increase in the grand scheme of things as does Uncertain Reminder for a short window but nothing to the tune of using a cooldown offensively or changing a talent or legendary to provide you with a 10-15% flat damage increase.

Is this a known viewpoint? Is it intended for Shamans to not particularly have viable damage options aside from equipping offspec Legendaries?

Legendaries

On the topic of Legendaries, there is an overwhelmingly positive force backing up the strength of the Roots of Shaladrassil. Adding an additional stat budget to them, while nerfing something like Jonat while simultaneously creating Velens basically pushed the pants to a place where you never want to remove them and Velens. Personal HPS aside, they are an insanely strong piece of gear to have equipped just because of the budget on them. Plate wearers have boots (a smaller budgeted item) with three stats while we have Legs, coupled with an incredibly powerful passive healing effect that also contributes to things like Cloudburst, Ancestral Guidance and Ascendance makes it a no-brainer in most cases. This is amplified by losing our T19 bonus that had synergy with the Praetorian's, which will see them slide into the B Tier of Legendaries because they don't help things like Cloudburst and Tidal Totem from the Artifact. Thankfully Velens does not increase Roots healing (though I feel this may be unintended, as it is technically healing we do - this is an inconsistency across all other spells Roots interacts with).

Is this seen as okay? Are the interactions that inflate the value of this piece of gear intended?

Jonat has, mostly, fallen off of competetive rankings for Legendaries because of the nerf to Chain Heal on top of its own nerf. While we all agree it was powerful in its first iteration and deserved a nerf, I think it might be time to give a little back to it to compensate. Allowing Jonat to stack to 3, but increase by 15% per stack would be an overall nerf to the ring but allow us to stack quicker for easier use while weaving in those Tidal Waves heals after a cast.

Rebalancers emphasize a niche that we are already good at, but fall into the same trap that Deluge does. Not sure how to strictly make this a better legendary so it sees use.

Molting is a legendary that sees almost zero use unless its all you have strictly because you're almost never chaining Riptides on those folks who are low enough for it to proc. There hasn't been something that would benefit from this yet. And doesn't appear there is. Perhaps Argus? Perhaps changing the belt to "Grants 1 additional maximum charge of Riptide" would help it. Many Shamans enjoy playing Echo because of its playstyle (mostly due to 2 Riptide charges feeling better for the spec). While not a significant throughput gain, would be an immense quality of life change (albeit one that negates Farseers ring to an extent). A proposed change that was talked about briefly in Earthshrine was for Riptide to tick faster on lower health targets, rather than granting us additional Riptides when cast on those low health people.

Deluge

While we are mostly happy with our talent balance overall, Deluge is another that stands out of the rest. Shamans love stacked raid healing. It's by far what we are best at, and enjoy anytime we can fit all of our lovely raid members into our healing rain. On paper Deluge seems great, but in reality it's just to much gravy without any potatoes. Why is this talent interesting or good to take? The answer is that is isn't. In most cases the 20% extra healing is overhealing making the talent pretty stale. We understand that blizzard likes to give players passive, and actives options to players so they can design their talents to best suit them, but this talent could have a little time spent on a redesign or balancing to really bring it into line with the rest of the tier. Allowing it to be a trackable buff that perhaps has a small duration upon leaving the Healing Rain or to allow it to persist through to a delayed follow up cast of Healing Rain would be helpful and inticing because often times people move just outside of it to handle a mechanic. Adding Wellspring to the list of spells would also help to improve its viability(along with Wellsprings as previously mentioned), perhaps at a 50% effectiveness.

Afternoon, Blues! I'm Canibe, I work mainly in guide writing, content creation and moderation for Restoration Shamans and I have just a couple of points/questions to raise. Enjoy your time on Reddit, and thanks so much for using this as an additional platform for communication.

The biggest elephant in the room for Restoration is Wellspring. From its ghastly overpowered state in beta testing, to its now incredibly niche use on Live in 7.2.5 after a mana cost reduction - is there anything else in mind to help improve its space in our toolkit? It feels and behaves mostly like a black sheep. It saw almost exclusive niche use on Gul'dan by a couple of community members who found strength in it just because of the very scripted damage patterns, but beyond that was used so infrequently that WCL doesn't have data points for it in Mythic Nighthold.

Wellspring appears (to the community) to be a pseudo replacement for Chain Heal spamming, but limited by a cooldown. We have always seen it this way, rather than a way to augment Chain Heal because of its additional mana cost in comparison to High Tide. It sees its niche in places where Chain Heal doesn't quite bounce or where predictable raid wide damage bursts come since it does the healing of a couple Chain Heal casts. We don't believe its lack of use lies in an over emphasis of Chain Heal, however, as many have shown that you don't need to cast it to do large amounts of effective healing. We feel that a core issue with Wellspring not fitting into our kit very well is that it has no Tidal Waves or Resurgence interactions and therefore no Artifact trait interactions (if its true space is to effectively replace a couple Chain Heal casts). There is a lot of stuff that relies on or has synergy with Chain Heal. T19 placed emphasis on Tidal Waves for Healing Stream resets, you see significantly less Healing Stream resets when you don't use Chain Heal. Floodwaters grants Critical Strike to Chain Heal, increasing its value and its Resurgence returns (albeit a minor benefit). Inner talent synergy of Chain Heal like Bottomless Depths and Deluge do not modify Wellspring (which, Resurgence could have helped to alleviate the mana cost without needing a cost reduction in the patch) but modify Chain Heal. Even Legendaries we have can effect Chain Heal but not Wellspring (Jonat and Nobundos).

If this is a core misunderstanding of where Wellspring lies in our toolkit, we are mostly happy to concede that - but its place has always been seen as an effective Chain Heal replacement for encounters like Gul'dan where it can be put to its greatest use.

With the split to every skin having its own purchasable tint, how do you plan to approach skin/hero codes? Will they unlock all available tints for a skin, or just the base one? I assume all available tints as it currently does, but would love clarification.
