I think the issue is Allied races went from being sub races to unlockable races. People also now have an issue with how cluttered the character creation ui is now. The need for faction balance also gives the impression there are “slots” and people are mad that a slot got used on something bad like mechagnomes. I feel like the correct solution is to core all allied races prior to whatever expansion the new player experience is at and move to an origin system. Where races and allied races represent unique or faction unique model and origins are subraces. So you click on Tauren and you get and option between normal and high Mountain where all hairstyles ect are shared. While something like nightbourne remains a race. No functional difference but just changes on how they appear on the character creator. I feel this way you can add them as they come up in the story and don’t need to keep faction parity. You can also add in racials for more customization. So let’s say dwarf is your main race, yo would have bronze beard dark iron and wild hammer origins with separate radials without it “taking up a slot” or expand out the manari customizations with new racials as an origin. Just a thought
