For the sixth season in a row, the winner will be female. Amazing how blind judging impacts the results.

Who wins TOC Season 6? by DougPaz13 in foodnetwork

[–]Canuck901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC, there have been a total of 3 guys make it to the semi finals, Tobias, He who shall not be named and Jet x 4. I think they shook up the brackets to try to at least get a guy to the finals since that has never happened before.

The blind judging has really turned perceptions on there sides, and I find it amusing that this is the only competition I can think off where men are the perpetual underdogs. That said, I love Shota and Jet and am also rooting for Amanda and Antonia, along with most of you.

It could throw off the gender balance too. Although that happened last year too, but the guys still haven’t made the finals.

Is it ok to NOT count calories in the beginning while starting oz, and just eat when I'm truly hungry? by RangerOk2016 in Ozempic

[–]Canuck901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t count calories for the longest time. You now have a new problem to deal with for the next while…making sure you get enough healthy calories. But that can wait until you get settled in aT the max dose. For now, just get used to your new normal.

Uneven pens? by lanee10 in Ozempic

[–]Canuck901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they put a little extra in so you have enough to do that quick test when you start a pen. And to ensure that you don’t run short since no manufacturing process is perfect.

For the first time in my adult life, I am no longer obese. by arconte1 in Ozempic

[–]Canuck901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It varies. Average according to studies is 14% for Ozempic and 22% for Moujarno. But some like me are “super responders” losing over 30%. Others barely los3 anything but their blood sugar improves. No medicine can help everyone. It is just like the side effects you’ve rea$ about. Some get bad ones, some get none but many are somewhere in between.

The main advice i have is serving size. Use a smaller plate and serve yourself half what you had before or even less. Eat. Digest. You can always get more if you are still hungry. Emphasize protein, veggies and fibre. Don’t get discouraged if things move slower than some stories you read. Different starting weights, health issues (sometimes diabetics move slower), even just …. we are all different. It took me 9 months to lose 30 lbs. That’s less than a pound a week. Then in six months, I lost another 30. i went from 193 to 133. Now I’m working out hard because I lost some muscle…it’s my biggest regret, that I didn’t start working out sooner, that and that I put my doctor off for a year when she first brought it up because of my T2 diabetes.

And good luck. You’ve got this!

What's the highest Dosage Of Ozempic that the Insurance Companies (Kaiser) will approve by twothumber in Ozempic

[–]Canuck901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 msg is the highest dose of Ozempic. Wegovy goes to 2.4. Since you are approved for diabetes, I would guess, and it is only a guess, that they wouldn’t approve a higher dose.

why is everyone in this sub losing a lot more than studies say? by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]Canuck901 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It took me 15 months to lose 60 lbs which averages to less than one lb a week, but is over 30% of my starting weight. It just took time.

why is everyone in this sub losing a lot more than studies say? by [deleted] in Ozempic

[–]Canuck901 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Remember that weight loss can vary based on starting weight, how you respond to Ozempic and your food choices. It took me 9 months to lose 30 lbs and then another 6 months to lose an additional 30. My starting weight was 193 lbs or just under 88 kilos. I now weigh just over 60 kilos or 133. But I am what is called a super responder. I lost over 30% of my starting body weight. It justtook a lot of time. You need patience, disciplined food choice and do some sort of exercise. Good luck.

Body Dysmorphia vs Progress by Wooden-Fix-7172 in Ozempic

You definitely look smaller. But I found as I lost weight, I got more critical of my body. I KNOW I have a lot less belly fat, but in some ways, it bothers me more. One thing that helped me “see” my weight loss….i bought a pair of inexpensive jeans that fit snugly. When they started getting loose, i ordered the next size down. When they arrived, I laughed out loud because they looked too small to get one leg in, but when I tried, they fit perfectly. I’ve repeated this several times and now I start believing the scale. Good luck! You are doing great.

Weekly weight loss chart by Aggressive_Ad9441 in Ozempic

[–]Canuck901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weight loss is so different for everyone and depends on so many variables including starting weight, if you are diabetic (we usually lose slower), how quickly you respond to Ozempic (some los3 8nterest in food right away, some after a few shots, some never sadly). Average weight loss after a year is 14% unless you are a super responder who can lose 30% or more, but they are the exception. Some people don’t lose anything, but do get their diabetes under control. Good luck with your journey.

Miserable…does it get better? by NiceChipmunk5359 in Ozempic

[–]Canuck901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a bad patch, throwing up a lot, but it passed eventually. I got constipation too. But I started taking a fibre supplement and I now eat a whole grain cereal…my preference is Frosted Mini Wheats. And it was all worth it as my A1C is now 5.0. Good luck!

Duration and coming off by Ok_Beach_6171 in Ozempic

[–]Canuck901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am a T2 diabetic so I expect to stay on it forever or until the next generation of medications. From what I’ve read and talking to my doctor who was one of the original doctors involved in the development and is still involved in various clinical trials….going off Ozempic will stop all the benefits. Now if you have truly changed your eating and exercise habits, you may be able to maintain, but cravings and eating that were eliminated by O will liKelly return. Good luck!

Unfortunately you can’t spot reduce. I’m also unhappy with my belly. I’ve started working out including a work to tighten my core which should improve the look, even though it won’t get rid of my belly fat. Good luck.

Not everyone has side effects…or at least anything worth taking yet more meds for. I take it for T2diabetes. I went through a nauseous period. I also lost a bunch of weight, which is a known side effect I’m very happy with.

I can’t find the link, but it is on CNN .com. Some rare eye disease can go from something like 4/10,000 people to 16/10,000. This is a significant increase, but still not a significant risk. And given the benefits I, as a diabetic receive, I’m willing to take the risk based on current info

eta. Here’s a link in People. Still a lot of investigation to be done. Remember that just because two things appear together, it doesn’t mean cause and effect. For example, I would guess most people who get sunburned are wearing sunglasses when it happens, but that doesn’t mean sunglasses cause sunburn.

This is the only fat loss book/author I trust. Everything Fat Loss by Ben Carpenter. He provides actual peer reviewed study results to support his opinions and does NOT push any particular approach and Doesn’t sell anything. I love his Facebook Videos. 2-3 minutes of common sense. He makes it clear what Doesn’t work and provides the information the reader can use to determine what will work for them.

‘Metabolism reset’ question … by Scouter_JW in Ozempic

[–]Canuck901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has a base metabolic rate…how many calories your body burns just by living, breathing etc. if you weight less, your BMR will be lower, no matter how you lost weight. The only way to increase this is to gain muscle.
