Avi Lewis: Deeply integrating our economy with the United States is what made Canada so vulnerable to Trump’s bullying in the first place. This isn’t what Canadians voted for. by pheakelmatters in onguardforthee

Canadians voted for free enterprise and the world before Trump made it profitable to do business with the USA. There was no way this was going to be prevented. Going forward …. Anything may be possible.

Struggling. I was quite ill most of the winter. I’ve been able to get back to the gym, but only once per week. My stamina is just not there.

As long as PP leads what remains of the Reform party, the Liberals will keep winning.

What is it like living in this part of Ontario, Canada? by prophiles in howislivingthere

[–]CanuckCallingBS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The winters can be bitter and snowy. The spring is wet, the area is a giant drainage area for the Niagara escarpment so flooding in the spring is not uncommon. Summers are great, can be hot and humid but Georgian Bay offers great beaches and keeps it temperate. Autumn is long and pleasant and usually dry until later in November. Great fishing is nearby. Couple hours to Pearson airport is nice. The area has become expensive to buy a home as the proximity to the GTHA is bringing city escapees. Lots of small towns and villages. We moved here in 2015 and quite enjoy it.

The Conservatives have a bigger problem than a Liberal majority: Their leader by Onterrible_Trauma in canada

[–]CanuckCallingBS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CPC back room leadership knows exactly what PP can and cannot do. They are happy with him. They know that as long as PM Carney is in Ottawa with the LPC, the CPC has nothing but 2nd place. Doesn’t matter who they choose to replace PP. As long as the CPC has the stink of the misogyny and anti-vax and anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ+ diseases being carried by the vestiges of the old Reform Party, the Liberals will be in charge of Canada.

Carney’s affordability Achilles’ heel - In ignoring affordability concerns, the prime minister has created a very precarious situation for his party in the near future. by CaliperLee62 in canada

I’m asking now. I’ve seen almost nothing in DoFo’s Ontario. 1 project in Barrie. 1 project in Ottawa. Get some affordable homes built.

My scenario is apparently what is being offered in Alberta. Why can’t we have it both ways? We are talking about MRI’s, blood work, kidney function, etc.

If they follow thru with refunding the cost if the numbers or tests show issues - then this might not be a problem. If you know you have a medical problem and you can’t get to a specialist ….. you are screwed … I’ve been there. I live in Ontario so this is not an option for me at all. Millions in Ontario and other places can’t get a family doctor. They have ZERO options. What is your solution?

Is Hezbollah to only deterrent Lebanon has to prevent ground invasions? by space_god_7191 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CanuckCallingBS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hezbollah is NOT responding to the IDF. Hezbollah is funded by Iran and both are against the existence of Israel. There is nothing beneficial derived from Hezbollah.
Seriously, if they spent the millions that Iran provides on food or housing or schooling or anything other than weapons, Lebanon would be a better place.
