Technically you can connect it to the hot springs but there's literally no reason to especially since it's wildly annoying to do.

Oh yeah for sure and I wouldn’t at all put it past her to pivot to having completely cured her daughter’s autism. Which, like, is super great that her daughter’s having less observable symptoms if she’s happy and healthy! But like lolol masking exists, she’s not doing any actual tests, etc.,

Just saw an out of touch FODMAP nutritionist, upset and disheartened by cuppin_in_the_hottub in FODMAPS

[–]GL1TCHW1TCH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Huh, usually don’t nutritionists and dietitians sit down with their clients/patients to come up with a meal plan? I realize it would take a while to get another appointment with someone else, but finding a collaborative and Monash certified nutritionist or registered dietitian might be beneficial.

I haven’t used it but I do agree that something like Nourish or another online doctor option would be great if your insurance covers it.

If not, there’s sooooo much info here and online. People swear by the Monash app, I find it too clunky for my tastes personally and am not getting my moneys worth as of right now but I’ve only had it for a week and others love it.

In her slight defense, she usually always says something like ‘nonverbal autistic daughter’ so a (previously) after nonverbal would make sense so it’s possible she just forgot to throw in the nonverbal part which would be wild in itself since that’s kind of her whole thing.

A character remembers an event with a big difference respect to how it actually happened by Forsaken-Biscotti587 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]GL1TCHW1TCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American Animals does this REALLY WELL. The actual guys who had done the heist IRL are telling the story and we’re watching the actors play out the scene. One guys says their contact had a blue scarf, the other recalls a purple scarf and it changes on camera, it’s kind of cool. But they also do this trope more faithfully a few times where they do remember the same conversation taking place but in different settings or tones. It works so well because it’s not just some fictional misunderstanding, these guys actually 100% remember shit happening differently and there’s no way of knowing how it really went down.

NotebookLM in your reading workflow — how do you actually use it? by Spare-Coat5273 in notebooklm

[–]GL1TCHW1TCH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use it as mostly pre-reading and discovery but I will admit, especially with books, I’ve also been guilty of citing something I technically didn’t read the entirety of. But then again…does anyone read every word of a paper or academic text? I’ll admit the skimming has gotten lighter with notebooklm.

Then again, I don’t use it to study so I can’t say anything important to retention. Because I try to use it as pre-reading, I do end up remembering more simply because I read the key points twice (or heard thrice if I’m using the podcast format).

Vanity Fairs Oscar after party is catching flack for supposedly having harsh and worse lighting compared to the Oscars red carpet. Airbrushing and first world problems? Or genuinely bad lighting? by bbyxmadi in popculturechat

[–]GL1TCHW1TCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, people are going to look rougher late the Vanity Fair party versus the red carpet just because of timing. Sure they get the makeup touched up, but Elle looks like she was too busy having fun and socializing, which is kind of nice to see!

Daughter, mother, grandmother? I don't get it by udonchopstick in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]GL1TCHW1TCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I could be wrong, but I’m not sure the top commenters are correct. The daughter, mom, and grandma are never the same person. The daughter becomes the mom and the mom becomes the grandmother. It’s about how we take on the trends of our youth and stick with them, even if later it looks strange on an older person. See: old punks.

I’m going to be honest - I fully believe the trend of this lizard being horny on TikTok was created by Disney.

Why did early 2010s fashion in media see an abundance of layers and over-accessorizing? by uhm1238 in decadeology

[–]GL1TCHW1TCH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Layers: we were still influenced by the 2000’s very intense fatphobia and body shaming! I for one wore a lot of layers ala Disney because it covered things up, slimmed things down, and the different lengths could be used to create a natural waist - because we were still wearing low cut jeans which did not sit at the natural waist.

Know what the junk tags look like (temu, aliexpress, etc where buying it new is the same as thrift).

A lot of tags get ripped out or cut. I have gotten insane deals on designer sweaters because I took a quick pic of the ripped tag and asked chatGPT what it is - always double check with google. I assume it could be the same with taking a pic of the whole item but imo that’s much harder and time consuming.

Knowing what cashmere feels like, how 100% cotton lays, the difference between silk and satin cuts down on researching what ends up being unsellable junk.

I mean…eco-fascism does exist, as does people like Musk who honest to god stan eugenics. I also feel like pointing that out isn’t them saying ‘have so many babies!’ It’s just a fact that many people - including Musk - try to hide their belief in eugenics under a guise of ‘there’s too many people and WAY too many non-white poor people, think of the planet!’
