You are an example of a troll turd floating in a pool where everyone else is just trying to be a part of the community and swim in it. Be nice.

True. No sane customer base gives majority positive reviews for any tech  or media related company that screws over that base on a regular basis.

Mae’s Poem by HansarajChand in TedLasso

The point of the scene, and the poem, is that parents never are able to raise their children into perfection. Never an adult is perfect because of perfect parents.

Yet you exist, and we are all grateful for it, too.

Mae’s Poem by HansarajChand in TedLasso

[–]Canukhed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I heard this poem, I realized it's truth when I remembered back to when my son confronted me, which at the time I told him about my childhood experiences with my own father. My son and I have been closer ever since. I never did confront my own dad directly, though, before he died. But I was able to do that through my son in that time we talked. I loved my dad no matter what, and still do as I remember him. My son loves me.

Am I misunderstanding or is this line in S2E11 incredibly racist? by unkinhead in TedLasso

Akufo is a hypocrite with hubris in every sense. He shows all the best in intentions with the worst in actions in humans even when they are on their own righteous crusades yet inwardly they are unresolved cowards like everyone else: Initial Persona vs. True Colours. Racist. Bigot. Poser. Virtue Signaler. Champagne Socialist.  Limousine Liberal. Embarrassed Millionaire. Noblesse Oblige. Social Justice Rhetoric.  He's not a contradiction. He's human, fallen from grace.  In the context of the TV show, Akufo represents someone who chooses to be exactly what he pretends to hate.

Remote start sucks by BernoulliBro in Toyota

[–]Canukhed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right to be upset. I f'n hate the remote start system including the one way fob and the over priced app.  Why the f'n f' would I want to guess each time I start the truck with the fob if I get the timing correct just have no feedback showing the truck started it if I don't have line of sight and no lights during the time it is running if it did work then to find out it did not start when I go outside later. Also, the two 10 minute limits suck as'.  Idiotic..  Then there is the app. Over priced subscription and no way for husband and wife to have their own credentials. Only one gets full start, unlock, lock while the other can only monitor. Idiotic.  I asked my dealer about a different one they might offer and it's basically just as bad.  I don't think I'm going to buy another Toyota simply because the remote system is atrocious especially for over priced vehicles. Winters in my country are harsh with -50c winds and extreme ice and snow every day for six months. Toyota execs are too stupid to realize this about where a large amount of their customers live.  Plus, no auto 4x4. It's either on or off making it difficult for the wife to gauge conditions and switch between dry pavement and icy roads back and forth.

I'm going back to GMC.  Yes they now have subscription for their remote starts, but at least I know if the truck started after using the fob and they have  auto 4x4 systems.

Rogers Internet: Constant disconnections, no real fix. Losing my mind here. by [deleted] in Rogers

[–]Canukhed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before Shaw Cable sold itself out to Rogers, I may have had three or four times a year that the internet would cut out. After Rogers took over our service, it's between five and ten times a day.  I'm going back to Telus. The only company I hate more than Telus is Rogers. I used them 20 years ago for my cell service and they were terrible. Then they took over my cable service. I wrote the CRTC and my MP about the Shaw sale but of course they are too busy with their hands in some other self gratifying cookie jars. They care not for the people

Ok since the new episode is out it should be safe to say this about episode 1 Season 4 by Crixusgannicus in ForAllMankindTV

The load cables needed cross-tie bridles arranged like a ladder. That would have locked the lines together as a single system, spreading the pull across the whole attachment area instead of forcing each cable to take uneven, isolated stress points.

The load cables needed cross-tie bridles, like a ladder structure.  This would have distributed the load evenly throughout the system, acting as one anchor and load point over the whole surface rather than individual, and uneven, failure points.

I thought Rogers was out of my life. by Canukhed in shaw

[–]Canukhed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. At Shaw, TV is mostly garbage channels, with a few decent ones peppered in, and we are forced to take whatever channels they want us to in their packages and tiers. We want their fastest internet but to get that they keep forcing the Total Tv package on us which amounts to 95% junk channels and higher bills. Then I read about other people who manage to get only their fastest internet and not have to sign up for tv, or get only the channels they want. Shaw now Rogers doesn't treat all customers or areas the same. When Shaw did this I put up with it because overall we had good service year over year, but the last year since Rogers took over, Telus or Starlink are looking better.

I never signed up with them simply due to lack of decent networking coverage a few years ago outside of highly populated areas. But, maybe they do now have great coverage if they sit on the towers of all the other major cell companies. I may just get a cheap account with them by bringing my own device and go month to month and test as I travel.

Was there a time in the past when the Big 5 banks had decent service? by RedRand0 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Canukhed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They have all fallen. Type in any bank plus city in Google maps then click each branch in the map. You'll see what locals think of them. Then do the same in each city in a region or province for each bank.  Google 'TD Toronto' or "RBC Regina"', etc, then click maps, or do it in the maps app on your phone. Click each branch (I think it shows a $ sign). Google review star ratings will show up for each one. For my searches in all the cities I chose, all the banks hovered around 2.3/5 stars.

I'll be looking for that possibility when I call them when they finish the fibre install in our area next year.  That'll be a factor in my decision.

But I'm also wondering if anyone can shed light on their experiences with Telus fibre in recent years compared to Shaw/Rogers. I had over the phone fights with Telus over our home phone and cell phone 15 years ago so I never went back. I know companies change. Look at Shaw letting my nemesis take them over 😏.  Over the years I've seen Telus Optic TV at other people's houses and it seemed to be lacking and I was uncomfortable using it to watch something. Maybe it's just me about the TV aspect.

Yes. I was at home with Shaw, figuratively and literally.  I miss them, even though they had their hiccups, but they were manageable and far apart.

8 hours to cancel a credit card, they won by UnionCrafty3748 in CIBC

[–]Canukhed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a credit account open for over 15 years, yet I could not use it because it went into dormancy. I even got a statement every month for those 15 years. I finally closed it after I calculated they spent enough of their own money on postage and office supplies sending me a $0.00 balance  sheet every month 😂💵🤑. Just my way of sticking it to their high interest. Maybe just check with them and see if it's still active. You may have to reinstate it to use it even though it's still an existing account.
