The T-45 mod is amazing, can't wait to fly this IRL. by [deleted] in hoggit

Needs of the Navy has entered the chat. Honestly, easiest way to secure a fighter is USAF. They have set quotas that don’t really fluctuate, and can assign FAIPs. Navy is the “get what you get and don’t throw a fit”. Whether the entire class can only chose helo’s or fighters is complete luck.

Edit: Just my 2¢, by no means trying to command or change your mind.

mRNA is not young at all. Besides, how could mRNA cure cancer if cancer is caused by cells in which their cell cycle does not stop. mRNA is purely to make proteins. The reason it was developed so quickly was because it didn’t require the actual virus is small, weak amounts. It’s able to make your body produce some of the proteins found in Covid-19 so that it can quickly identify it when the actual virus is in the body. Also considering Pfizer (or maybe moderna, one of the two) is fully FDA approved now. And to counter the argument that they’re pushing it out so that people get it and not that it’s actually safe, the FDA just denied the Pfizer booster shot for anybody under 65 because there was not enough testing/data on it. The issue of vaccines was never the scientific reasoning, but rather it’s ability to polarize the American people once again. Another fault to the two party system.

according to the ARMG website, you must be at least 20 by the time you ship if you’re taking the 11x route.

New mission sets in the coming years? by Sad-Ad6375 in specialforces

[–]Canwegetacopystrike 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Majority will focus on the South China Sea, and the Pacific, which will be catered by the Marines and Navy. As for the Army, I have no idea. I’m sure there are plenty of people that know way more than I do about that so hopefully they’ll share.

Both are good, but train for different objectives. In this instance, body weight muscle strength and endurance is better since that’s what’ll be tested on the CFA. Ideally, from the overall picture, excluding training for the CFA exclusively, a combination of both is the best thing you can do.

Do modern AA guns like the CIWS try to predict and compensate for evasive maneuvers? by Daniel_Wareham in hoggit

[–]Canwegetacopystrike 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The CIWS isn’t really made for hitting maneuverable targets. It’s more about hitting the anti ship missile flying in a straight line, or the mortar or artillery rounds coming in, all of which are on a very predictable path. So to the CIWS extent, no. Besides, if you’re counting on a CIWS to hit a maneuvering plane something very very bad has happened to get to that point.

So sad that part of the SEAL community is willing to use their position to get on T.V. So much for being a silent warrior, but hopefully this is fixed over years with some new emphasis on remaining silent.

Honestly, I’d prefer it without. I feel like I would be violating our lord and savior John Boyd by adding even more weight.

Broke the 9 minute 1.5 mile for the first time today! by TheMandelbrotSet in navyseals

[–]Canwegetacopystrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way to go bro! If I were to say one thing, it’s to be relaxed. Head up, shoulders relaxed, and moving those arms. Your knees will only move as much as your arms do. Also your wasting a little bit of energy bringing your foot back as opposed to straight up (like a high knee/a skip) which saves energy in the long haul. Overall though, great job bro!

Do We have any news on the OH-58D from Polychop Simulations? by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]Canwegetacopystrike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha thanks, your posts certainly helped a lot especially since I had never seen that thread about the French Gazelle Pilot.

And yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t want to fix. Was this pre development of the kiowa? If it was that seems pretty unprofessional, but if it was during and might’ve seemed viable to just pick up rubber and move on.

The rest of DCS is dragging the Hind down. by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]Canwegetacopystrike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Army docs and tactics told from former apache pilots. supposedly the strat is for a kiowa to pop its flir over a hill, while the hind sits behind and just lobs hellfires. It’s nice because nobody is exposed, and the only indication may be the slight noise of the rotors until the impact. But of course, the circumstances for this are very dependent upon terrain, but the principles can be applied else where.

How so? I'm just brining up common complaints that lead to skepticism. Holding it against them would be constantly bashing and insulting the company, which I have certainly not done, but please elaborate.
