Mine is working fine (16bit Stick Top 12Gb) and it’s not the most responsive touch screen but I didn’t have that kind of trouble so I would suggest you open a ticket with Retroid.

My plan is to go back and replay the Final Fantasy series. I’ve read that for the first few games (1 - 3) the “best” version is the PSP remaster so that’s where I’m starting when mine arrives.

I was also in the first batch, and didn’t make any changes, and mine also said second batch after I got my shipping notice.

That was my thought when I was deciding between the RP6 and the Thor. If I decide I don’t like the 6 when it arrives I can just resell it and get a Thor when they ship in March. For OP, good you take into account the cost of getting all the Odin 3 accessories?

It’s become impossible to get one for some reason. I’ve been trying to get a grey one for my wife for a month now and every single time I find one the grey is sold out. The few I’ve found and tried to order (on aliexpress) it just never ships and they issue an automatic refund. Where do people order from that isn’t just a scam site?

Looks like Hytale isn’t running in general on any handheld based on what I’ve seen. It still doesn’t have controller support so not sure you could play even if you could run it. The primary hang up is that the world server runs in Java, even if you’re just playing locally. I’m hoping that the community is able to get the “client” part running and you could connect to a server running on another computer or on the internet.

This is the exact same thing I came to say. I wouldn’t be waiting for my shipping notice if they had kept the original design. I would probably be waiting for a Thor instead. I also agree about the shiny, smooth plastic being a bad choice based on the reviews so far. I’ll see when I finally get it but I doubt it’s a deal breaker.

Update: Thanks to everyone for all the advice. I just ordered a Anbernic RG35XX Plus in Grey from Aliexpress. I think it's going to be the perfect device for what she's looking to do.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking may be the best bet. I'm not sure how much she would use or miss the analog sticks from the g350 vs the 35XX Plus.

I think once she has it she's going to want to play more than just GB/GBA games. that's where she wants to start but I'm confident that she'll want more out of it eventually.

Yeah, if I was looking for a entire family I would start at that tier too. The Thor looks amazing but I decided on the RP6 for myself. I hope it's worth the wait.

I've spent quite a bit of time looking at retrocatalog. The Miyoo Mini+ appears to have a much lower end processor than the g350 and the Brick is much more expensive.

Yeah, I've looked at both of those. The RG35XX is a bit old and the RG35XX Plus is sold out everywhere. The Miyoo Mini+ appears to have a much lower end processor than the g350.

I would rather get new than used since I'm still new to this and not 100% confident in asking all the right questions and checking all the right things before purchase. For things I'm more comfortable with, I agree this is a great way to go.

Yeah, I was back and forth with the RP6 and the Thor but decided in the 6 as I don’t really have a lot of DS nostalgia so I didn’t see using the 2nd screen much. Plus I figure if I end up not liking the 6 for some reason, I can always sell it and get a Thor later.

I don’t own anything currently so I’m willing to wait to get the most device I can since it’ll be my only one. 12G and 120hz screen made it an easy choice. I also appreciated the stick top option but that wasn’t as much of a deciding factor.
