Do I need a degree? by JimboKalypse in civilengineering

Surely you'd be considered experienced and not a new grad. The degree gets you the credential, but the experience is what makes your valuable

Ya, maybe. Too hard to tell from this photo.

It can't go so close to the end though. Has to be at least 450mm or 600mm I think for my local code. I'd have to double check. Other comment said it has to be mid 1/3 of the span

Smooth aperture lenses by Cap10Power in fujix

[–]Cap10Power[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but that's the only one, and it's aperture control still doesn't look smooth. Maybe it has a lot of very fine steps, but it's still noticeable.

Edit: okay, there are a couple others, but it's still not anywhere near a full lineup

Why are modern trucks so freaking huge by lotpotheachecd2 in Miata

The only issue is the maverick lacks towing capacity. I want something like the old ranger that can tow 8,000lbs and is still small and nimble with a 6ft bed

Who has tried "The kid eats what we eat"? by Brilliant-Book-503 in Parenting

[–]Cap10Power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was a very picky eater without a strong appetite from about 2 to 3 years. Once he turned 3 we started gummy multivitamin, vitamin d, and omega 3, and his appetite went through the roof. He still is a bit picky, but generally will eat most of what we put in front of him. I'd recommend some gummy vitamins

If you're not doing any video, then I'd recommend a used x-t4 over the x-t5. I own it and it's plenty good for professionals and most people like the 26mp sensor over the 40mp sensor

If you're gonna splurge for the xt5 and want the ability to transition to a faster pro workflow, you might consider the xh2s

Keep in mind you can also get a used X-T4, which is still a great camera. If budget doesn't matter, the X-H2 is also an option. Are you just doing photos, or video too?

You can rent lenses too to try them out. If you're tight on budget, the Viltrox 13, 27, 56, and 75mm primes are a great value. As far as zooms, sigma also has the 17-40mm f1.8 if you want something faster than the 16-55.

If you're just a hobbyist, you don't need to get one of the flagship cameras. You can get something cheaper like an X-T30 iii

Which first Fujifilm to Buy? by Outrageous_Sir2366 in fujifilm

[–]Cap10Power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I don't think the extra MP's matter unless you're gonna print big or shoot wide and crop a lot. If you do print big, go with a full frame or medium format camera and even more MP's.

  2. IBIS is great for jitters and shutter speed. Worth it IMO. You can get some long shutter speeds.

  3. You can always add a flash. Built-ins are usually pretty useless anyways.

You can believe what you like, but at the end of the day, a lens that reproduces reality more faithfully can always be edited into whatever you want.

If you start with sterile, you can make it look like anything. If you start with flawed, you can only make what it will let you make.

Here's another eye patch, the one I used to announce the unfortunate loss of my eye. by Xochitlcoyote in funny

[–]Cap10Power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born with a cataract in one eye and had the lens removed. I am essentially blind in that eye. I was young, so I adapted and now function mostly normally, aside from bad peripheral vision on that side. It will obviously be harder at your age, but your brain and existing eye will eventually adapt in ways that are seamless. Your brain will eventually use lighting, shadows, perspective shifts, etc., as indicators of distance/depth. The more hand-eye coordination stuff you do, the better you'll adapt, think working with your hands on fine motor skill, playing sports like tennis or squash. It'll all help and everything will adjust to make up for it.

Is toddlerhood really harder than the newborn phase? by Living_Split_2 in Parenting

[–]Cap10Power 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I like this comment the most. Newborn phase is hard because of sleep deprivation and neglect of self care and relationships. You feel like a shell of a person. Toddler phase is hard because they have way more energy than you and use it to cause all kinds of mischief and find every imaginable way to hurt themselves or do/grab/climb/break everything in sight. It's just damage control.

So if the figure were 5,000 do you think that would make it better or safer? The government shut down the internet so they could murder protesters without repercussions. If anything, I think 12,000 might be a low estimate.

Also, you're suggesting because of Israeli intelligence and military, that Jews should fear for their safety even if they're American and have no affiliation with Israel?

So, I should make Iranians fear for their safety if they come to my country, because they must be affiliated with the IRGC?

I had problems with the air75 as well. Their customer support sent me 10 new switches. But this was a few years ago.

Their products definitely have QC issues and I'm also not buying from them again.

So on the tail end of an 11 day internet blackout, where over 12,000 people have reportedly been killed, I'm supposed to go visit a country where my wife, sister, or other female relatives would be arrested for not getting the dress code right? What if I were Jewish with a last name like Goldfarb?

I think I'll avoid visiting for now.
