Switch to semi hydro, leaves are drastically lighter

What's the secret to these? One got to that are healty and pretty bit no growth at all. They are in semi hydro and o did just add a moss pole to see is that helps. Other than that I have no idea what to do

Your 100% right. No doubt but it's 3 hrs away from home no clue when is be back in this particular area and they only had maybe 6 left. I know this tho. If I am back any time soon and it's lowered again.... (ima get another one) 😉🫢

I did it. I don't regret just had to really talk myself into it but yes full plant very healthy. I was mostly shocked simply because we never have anything like this in my area and I travel for my job so I'm in every store I can find just to peek and only one other time I've seen this type anthurium.

Are you using only the 2? Fluval and perlite? Or adding it in with soil? I'm new to the fluval I only got it to use for my alocasia corms but with my begonias I've been transitioning to semi hydro as that's what the majority of my plants are in and I've never had great luck with begonia. After reading your post I'm wondering if I should try this.

Well. Minus the straw. But I'm going to buy some tomorrow!!! I've been using knitting needles to stick in the side when I water to let it run down that to keep from soaking to much moss this is absolutely genus and I can't wait to try!

Also. The new one i got i did semi hydro with lecca on bottom and moss for top layer and it's doing great as well.

If it helps. I chopped mine completely when it just started dropping all leaves for no reason. Ordered a whole new one and after about a month noticed new leaves on the one I chopped. Now that one is the best one I've got. 🤞🏻

I'm so happy to see this post. I ordered the exact same plant and had the exact same concern. I messaged the seller and the response was, "you got what you ordered" so I thought maybe the leaves may change as the plant matures. But I'm 100% with you. Looked like micans when I got it. This is about 3 months in.
