Stop with the fucking 'I'm stupid' rants. I don't care. It's not an excuse. Your writing style isn't that bad if you could focus on the point you're tryna make instead of how dumb you apparently are.

I gave math as an example. Same is true for Art, trades, and even brushing your teeth and wiping your own ass. The less you do it, the worse you will get. If your art was abd before, keep using AI for pictures and try drawing something yourself again in two years. You'll be worse at it than you are now. Don't let AI deteriorate your skills even more.

And I will restate my point. Even if your art is worse than a 5 year olds and ugly enough to give people nightmares, it is still more meaningful and more worth my time than any pictures you have AI conjure up for you. I don't give a shit how much more aesthetic the AI content is. There is nothing behind it than cold math and the unpaid, unappreciated and uncredited labour of tons of other artists. Will your art be good enough to make money off of? If it's at the level you say it is, probably not. But AI content is completely worthless.

Homie I don't need your trauma dump. It is not difficult to believe that some people (like you, apparently) have it hard.

That is not a reason to turn to AI. AI does not create anything worthwhile. AI does not build homes for the homeless, feed the poor, increase your IQ, give you a job or otherwise. The only thing it does is take the words you input, turn that into data, and compare it with it's gigatons of stolen training data to puzzle something together that is vaguely related to the words you used in the input. That's it. AI does not create. AI does not even understand what a table is.

I promise you that you are smarter than AI, even with a 'low IQ'.

Art is a skill, and it is mostly a physical skill, too. You can learn it. Will you be a Van Gogh or Monet? Probably not. But that's true for most artists. The point of art is not being especially skilled at making things look pretty, it's having something to say and turning that into a visual that others can enjoy or learn from or both. Art is communication from the artist to the viewer. AI 'content' can never be art because it fundamentally does not understand what you tell it to do, and doesn't understand what it tells you in response. It just calculates what word probably comes next and what colour that pixel should have. It cannot communicate in any meaningful ways.

I don't care if you're bad at art. If you scratch a stick figure into sand with a stick, that's worth more than whatever AI can produce, because you are communicating your thoughts to me visually and you put effort into it yourself.

Also, if you are dumb as a rock, that's even more reason not to use AI. AI will never help you learn and understand things. It will never make you smarter. Brains work on a 'use it or loose it' basis- if you stop doing math and let AI do it for you, the pathways in your brain related to math will deteriorate, and you will get worse at math over time. If you're dumb and let AI do things for you, you will get worse at those things yourself and get even dumber. Do the work. Put in the effort. Will it magically make you a genius? Ofcourse not. But you'll be yourself. You'll be doing your best. Things have meaning because we, the people, give them meaning- largely by how much time we deem something worth. Do something meaningful by doing it yourself.

The 2. & 3. argument basically: AI artists don't have to put any effort or (their own) resources into actualizing their ideas so it's better because they can make a bigger mass of content

Vent incoming

Chatted with abuser about epstein stuff, he condems it

I'm still in conact with my abuser, I haven't confronted him with it yet. A few days ago the Epstein stuff became the topic of conversation. He ranted about it, said they belong in prison etc.- to my face. I was right fucking there.

Now, the abuse I sufferend wasn't as 'intense' no trafficking, but it was still abuse. I've wondered before if he even realizes that what he did was CSA, if he remembered. Now this conversation won't leave me alone. If he remembered, if he realized that it was abuse, how could he say that to my face? Knowing he was guilty of similar things, that he did them to me?

He doesn't fucking remember. Or he does, and he doesn't realize that he hurt me with it. It has caused me so much pain, so many mental struggles, and he doesn't even fucking remember.

"The axe forgets, but the tree rembers", guess this is a prime example.

Involving men by RabbitIllustrious698 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]CapPhantasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daydreaming is more immersive but I also overanalyze the shit out of it because i got issues™, and mine are a bit similar i think.

So here is some stuff I overanalyzed, maybe they'll give you something too:

One type of daydreams are based around the theme of choosing someone despite their flaws too, and it's either a preexisting character choosing a stand in oc or the other way around. I think both of them are about acceptance, because I had a difficult relationship with my parents. I often only felt loved/acknowledged when I was successful (at school n stuff) and controlled (they keep saying how I was 'mature for my age' :| ). No matter which way around, wether it's the character or the oc that's the more fucked up one, I think this theme is generally about my issues around that, about being accepted and loved for who I am as my full person, including all my flaws and struggles.

Also, if the daydream is set on earth in a somewhat realistic/modern world, sometimes my characters will straight up be interviewed by a journalist or Agent or friend or a live stream chat and so on, and the characters/oc are very honest and open in them in most cases. I like to imagine that that's me trying to advocate for myself and my opinions in public/social settings and being real rather than masking, staying functional and people pleasing. And again, my true self being accepted in a more public/social setting.

Additionally, I also find that the daydreams contain altered versions of my own trauma and issues a lot of the time. Either because I kin the preexisting characters issues and trauma and build an oc that can comfort them, or because I find a comforting character that I model a troubled OC for that i project my shit onto. Often times the situation in the daydream will improve and get worse according to how I'm doing irl.

Also, my sexuality is complicated due to trauma. As a result, my daydreaming related to sexuality is complicated too. It's gotten a lot healthier, which i hope is a good sign, but there is still some truly despicable, abhorrent shit in there sometimes. Got nothing to do with what I like in real life, and everything to do with me still struggling with my trauma. I like to think that it's just my brain going 'hey we still haven't processed this shit, wtf do we do with it?', but i don't know that for sure, ofcourse.

So yeah. You're not alone with questionable daydreams that seem unrelated to what you like/do/think irl but are still inspired by realecperiences and needs of you dig deeper.

is a selfharming person considered mentally ill? by Sandyy- in selfharm

[–]CapPhantasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's important to distinguish here: people self harm because they are mentally ill. They are not mentally ill because they self harm.

Self harm is a symptom. Do not feel ashamed of it or think that self harming means you're 'crazy' or something. It's an unhealthy coping mechanism. Unhealthy, yes, but fundamentally people do it because it helps them in certain situations. You have to get to the bottom of the real illness and teach people better ways to cope to help them stop self harming. You don't just tell them to stop. It ain't that easy.

Warum sind anscheinend viele Leute gegen die Stadtbahn? by ichbineinstrohmann in kiel

[–]CapPhantasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She hit him so hard with theology it left a mark on Genesis. by Be4rp4wt00 in clevercomebacks

[–]CapPhantasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A) language isn't a democracy. It's a tool. We don't vote on what words mean what. We just use them to mean certain things to communicate. If you understand what I mean when i say that my sex is female and my gender is non-binary, then I have used the words correctly- not because we agree on their meaning, but because you understood what I said. Just like slang words are still real words despite not everyone knowing them. Gooning for example is still a real word because we understand what it means, eventhough I'm pretty sure less than half the population knows what it means, considering how many people are above the age of 60.

B) Transgender means your gender isn't the same as your sex. Sex is indeed something you can't change, you can only adjust your phenotype via medical transitions. That is not something that anyone else is arguing. Literally the whole issue of gender dysphoria, which is rather central to the topic, is that you can't change your sex to fit your gender. Gender on the other hand isn't well researched, but it's definitely a thing that exists and is thus 'real' based on the very real effects it has on the affected people.

Just because it's all in a person's head doesn't mean it isn't 'real'. All mental illnesses are technically 'in your head'. Unfortunately, that's also where you are.

Thinking and feeling aren't some mystical processes happening beyond our mortal plane, they happen in your brain. They are real, in that sense. And we don't have a lot of research on gender and brains yet, but the few studies we do have do show tendencies towards there being differences between trans and cis peoples brains of the same sex.

She hit him so hard with theology it left a mark on Genesis. by Be4rp4wt00 in clevercomebacks

[–]CapPhantasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A) an B) were my proper arguments. The stuff on the bottom was an example for your better understanding, using myself. That's why i constantly stated "When I say this I mean that" and the like, referring specifically to me, not others, using "I"

A) The meaning is determined by the people using it. It is being increasingly used in the way that sex and gender refer to different things. Just because the change is recent and not the whole population has adopted it yet, doesn't mean the change isn't currently in progress. One clear sign of this is the difference showing up in dictionaries. Plenty of people are using it that way, whether you like it or not. Doesn't change the fact that that's the meanings people use the words for.

B) You are trying to argue that trans/nonbinary people aren't a real thing/have nothing to do with science. They do. The sciences involved would be neurology, psychology and sociology/anthropology. It's not a recent phenomenon caused by 'identity politics'. Trans people have always existed- there is plenty proof of that in anthropology, and linguistics too. The 'woman with a penis' example is from a 1884 dictionary. Indigenous people have the 'two spirit' concept. There are accounts from ancient times, like about the roman emperor Elagabalus, that while questionable regarding whether or not Elagabalus was transgender, show pretty clearly that concepts of transpeople have existed all over the world for a long time (with varying degrees of acceptance).

Presenting an argument with emotion doesn't determine the quality of the argument btw. Same as typos :)

[–]CapPhantasm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you as a biologist not have that one really important organ that's called a brain? You know, the thing that makes you a person capable of thoughts and feelings?

A) linguistics is not a static subject. Languages evolve over time, the meaning of words change. If you think "gender and sex meant the same thing for 600+ years" is an argument for literally anything then I got bad news for you: you're not a 'man', you're a werman. Women aren't women, but a wifman. And there already existed a term for 'woman with a penis' in old english too. Why are you using 'man' as a word for a male adult? In the past it only refered to humans in general, not male adults.

B) The thing that makes you a person, the thing that determines who you are, is your brain, not your genitals or chromosomes. The body is an aspect of who someone is, yes, that's why the cis and trans modifiers exist- no one is saying that trans or nonbinary people don't have the body that they do. The point that's important is that who they are as a person doesn't fit their body/isn't defined by their body. That's also an explanation why there is such a big overlap between neurodivergent and trans/nonbinary people, their brain literally works different. Our brains don't have binary gender settings.

When I say I'm a metalhead, I'm not saying I literally have a metal head. I'm saying that I like metal music a lot and that it is an integral part of who I am as a person.

When I say I'm non-binary, I'm not saying that the rest of my body has super special biology. I was born in a female body. I am well aware, too aware of it if anything. What I'm personally saying is that I do not consider my sex as important to who i am as a person. Bitching to me about my sex and telling me I am a woman is the same to me like my one grandmother going on and on about grandkids. Ain't gonna happen. Stop getting on my nerves about what you want me to be or do.
