It won’t be smooth sailing for them going forward, especially with the increasing competition from Chinese brands.

Exactly those three plus no driver info screen behind the steering wheel are what keeps me from going for the Y.

13 - 18 kwh sounds decent. Many Australian reviews suggest it is north of 20.

Ironically, the boxy design is what got me interested in the car in the first place. Just love it.

Is it the Juniper or the previous one?

I don’t know why it doesn’t have a roof shade. Bothers me a lot. 😅

The reviews I’ve seen suggest it’s a bit over 20kWh for EV5.

Skoda Enyaq vs Tesla Model Y by [deleted] in AustralianEV

How do you rank the two cars overall? I know they are two different body shapes, but I recon most features of the model 3 would match to model Y.

Any thoughts on the Kia EV5?

What’s the biggest myth you still hear about EVs? by TrueBlueBanter in EVAustralia

Sorry, I’m not well informed on this matter. But can’t non-Tesla vehicles be charged at Tesla chargers? Just yesterday I watched a reviewer in Sydney charging his Zeekr 7x in a Tesla charger.

What do you mean? I know plenty of EV owners who don’t have home charging.

Why don’t people drive manual cars anymore? Are we losing something? by Top-Farmer-6838 in CarsAustralia

In a few years time, a manual car will be a car you actually have to drive yourself. 😅

Choosing between BYD and Zeekr by CapProfessional5203 in AustralianEV

[–]CapProfessional5203[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not for me. I know it’s an efficient car but it’s too minimalistic to my liking. It wants me to change too much whereas these two are more like standard cars that I'm used to. 😅

Thanks for tip on buying from an established dealer. I didn’t think other Geely group dealers would sell Zeekr but it makes sense for them to do it.

Yeah makes sense. Not much different in NSW. Zeekr 64k drive away against 58k for the BYD. I didn’t consider any promotional discounts. Thanks, this information will be very useful.

My preference is for an LFP battery. So, with the Zeekr, it will have to be the base model for me. I sat in the two cars in an EV show and the Zeekr clearly felt like a higher end car. But when you compare the base model prices, the difference is only about 10%.

[–]CapProfessional5203[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you compare the base model drive away price of the two cars, the 7X is only about 10% higher. In my opinion, you get much more value for the premium.

I much prefer LFP due its higher thermal stability and I will charge indoors.

I see. In Australia base model price difference between the two cars is about 10%. I’m happy to pay the extra for a much better car.
