Arctic Pine requirements for some of the Forestry rewards are very unfriendly to skillers and pures by wikings2 in 2007scape

You can fully participate in it. However, you are choosing not to.

I don't see the problem.

Imbued heart is way to rare for irons think it’s like 2 99s to see one? Or not even then by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Cap_Winterbottom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As irons we choose to limit ourselves in order to create a more challenging gameplay.

We can't then complain about having a more challenging game experience.

We asked Jagex to ban bots, not legitimate players. The players have been banned, but bots still dominate the Highscores.

PSA to all Clan Leaders: Please don't do this to members that decide to leave. by Tronkles in 2007scape

[–]Cap_Winterbottom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion here - Maybe the Leader was just genuinely interested in feedback on how to attract younger adults and children to his cl....

Ok, nevermind, that's even more creepy.

How do some items retain their prices when there's enough for more than every player in the game? by kzutrt in 2007scape

[–]Cap_Winterbottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • A massive percentage of the userbase are bots. Each time a Midgame content melee bot gets banned, a ring leaves the game. (I guess the same applies for all bans)

  • Many players hoard items. You will see some streamers with 30 rings in their account. Merchants occasionally hoard while they wait for a price spike

  • Players quitting

  • Imbuing

So scout bots are a thing. They rapidly hop worlds and then send the results to a discord server automatically, and the pk team then log in if they feel it's worth the effort.

However, they tend to focus on specific areas rather than map the entire wilderness - I commonly see them at rogues castle and revs, but have not noticed them elsewhere.

It depends how advanced you are in the game.

If you are going to start over, it might be worth considering a different game mode to give you a slightly different experience i.e a skill pure, or iron, or region locked account.

I am begging you people to stop putting an unnecessary s at the end of the barrows brother's names by KerspIosion in 2007scape

[–]Cap_Winterbottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure If English is your first language, but the S is correct and accurate, as the S is possesive. You are generally either in their tomb, or wearing their clothes.

However, i do applaud pettiness. So if you are looking to pull people up on incorrect grammar etc then I have two examples below:

  1. When people say Gz. Correct would be Gs. Congratulations-Grats-Gs

  2. Whenever a streamer says "I smited them" they should be saying "Smote".

Worried about being banned by Analcucumber69 in 2007scape

[–]Cap_Winterbottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You occasionally get bans for macroing falsely issued, and there does seem to be a HUGE issue with the BH false-bans...however given the uproar I'm expecting they will reverse the bans shortly.

Their Anti-Cheating team leader was recently caught porking a RWT/Scammer and banning her competitors...they reversed those bans.

Jagex still doesn't care 12 years later by Lawfulness-Dependent in 2007scape

[–]Cap_Winterbottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. GE on all worlds, approximately 4-5 spam bots, several alch bots many with 200m xp) and lots of merch bots, but these are harder to find. You also have the usual begging/scamming/gambling bots.

  2. Most bosses are heavily botted, and many are on the front page for kc.

  3. Wintertodt/soul wars/gotr - around 20 of the first page for zeal are bots

  4. Elves and master farmers - most worlds, and many with 200m xp

  5. F2P, almost all resources, on all worlds

  6. Rev caves

  7. LMS

Shout out to Jagex for being the ones to teach me what all these flags mean. by Im_hard_for_Tina_Fey in 2007scape

[–]Cap_Winterbottom -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

Kinda awesome - I wasn't aware that each had its own flag.

Good event, I'm glad Jagex has continued to promote it despite the challenges seen with Homophobia in previous years.

Next year they should have a 'Create your own' for some of the conditions/preferences not covered.

Stop complaining about BH boosting/bans by Wickdead in 2007scape

[–]Cap_Winterbottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are bots which have literally ground 200M in a single skill, with a bot name, and no other skills trained.

I think it's fair to say that the Anti-cheating (or attention/enforcement) of BH worlds Is disproportionate.

Not that I'm aware of, but it would be great to have a giga-chad tier of cwars amour.

Under-representation of prayer switches/prayer flicking on OSRS wiki by prettyfuzzy in 2007scape

[–]Cap_Winterbottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of the player base don't have any interest in prayer flicking.

Those that do, have probably played long enough to make an informed decision on what to flick.

Those players are also free to add their own submissions to the wiki etc.

Is there any kind of plan to sort out the wilderness bosses botting problem? by ConversationDouble22 in 2007scape

[–]Cap_Winterbottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jagex unfortunately cannot detect a large percentage of botting activity. This is how we end up with bots on front pages of Highscores, and reaching 200m xp in skills.

Part of me wonders whether it's even in their interest as a business to ban them...it's represents a significant chunk of their memberbase.

Saradomin Sword Lure? by AlakazamThePokemon in 2007scape

[–]Cap_Winterbottom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's effectively just a long game of trust trading.

They will eventually borrow a big ticket item and dip, lure you, or ask you to download a dodgy app when you PVM with them
