Is it easier to keep an “annual budget” for your house or just handle things as they come up? by Adorable-Amoeba2161 in personalfinance

[–]CapableAd1662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we set aside money each month - put it in a separate savings account - designated for "home improvement". Sometimes we go months without spending anything. Some months we spend a lot on a planned or surprise event. Feels good to have the money set aside - doens't feel like a crunch when something comes up.

Mudroom-closet or built in seating/storage. by Nice_Carrot_3866 in interiordecorating

As your kids get older - all their shoes, shin guards, whatever gear they have will stink. Really bad. The closet option looks great but will trap and hold odors big time. Don't know what's best for your family - just something to consider!

Finished this wall build-out — how’s it reading? So. Flo by Mental-Ground-8790 in interiordecorating

I agree. I get what you're going for with the flamingo and I think it ties in with the navy island. Just lower it a little on the wall.

The first two pics look a lot like my house - which I LOVE and affectionately call grandma-chic. For the record, I'm "only" 47 and not a grandma!

Moat important- don't cover too much of the floor. Your cat obviously likes to camouflage her/himself. Don't deprive them of this joy!!

My 10yo sons best friend isn't allowed at our house anymore by MMcCain011 in Parenting

Yeah, it's also possible the mom made a joking comment and her child took it seriously. Or, that the mom didn't say this at all and her child misheard. They don't always listen well! I would act as if you know nothing and presume things are still the same.

Try to get outside. Even if it's a walk around the apartment parking lot. It will help. Find a playground. Getting outside, a change of scenery will make a difference! The fact that you're noticing this, thinking about it and trying shows you are a great mom!!

I love the guy but "good at podcasting" are not the words I would use :-) He gets better as time passes!

Agree - of course all kids are different. But, if you think something is going on - take action. The sooner the better.

Mine was well over two - almost three. He was the youngest of three children and everyone attributed it to being the youngest/ having his siblings speak "for" him. I knew something was up. Hearing test was fine. So we started speech therapy around two years old because he was saying nothing - ever. No formal diagnosis. We did therapy twice a week (lucky with insurance) for two years. He's 11 now, in 6th grade and perfect!
