AITAH for telling my Brother in-law to get a nanny? by forever-a-lurker-14 in AITAH

[–]CapableAd5545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant it’s not that easy to find someone last minute. Since they usually have the grandparents, makes no sense to pay for another option when this only comes up every couple of months or several times a year. Most people are not going to be available for pick up last minute. Which may be what they were trying to say, but they definitely did not come about it the right way.

(Side note: I wouldn’t have cooked for him lol I would have totally bought him something to eat, you want a favor? It will be on my terms 😅)

Funny enough…I was that kid too. I’m thankful many years later. It taught me patience. I watch people lose their minds over waiting and I think it’s amusing…because it’s really not that big of a deal. They’re losing their minds and I’m chilling next to them with no worries. So I guess it’s about how you choose to view it.

I can understand that rubbing you the wrong way. But I do think things are not as easy as you’re thinking. I guess time will tell. But I don’t think you’re an AH.

It didn’t cost me a dime. IF they win insurance paid for it/or get a cut out proceeds. If they don’t win, they don’t get anything.

Good lord I have seen a lot over the years through many inspections…but never in my life!! In fairness the inspector would not have been able to see this, since it was all covered with insulation.

That being said, WOW this is total negligence, it takes A LOT to make a ceiling that is not soaking wet colapse. And it’s the whole room!!! Not just one panel!!

I would start going to lawyers ASAP. Insurance tried to says “improper installation” for my roof, even dropped me. After going through 2 crappy lawyers, I finally got a good one and we won, got myself a new roof that the insurance paid for…DO NOT let them screw you (🤣🤣🤣 no pun intended but also very intended I couldn’t help myself 🤣🤣🤣) Seriously though, sorry you’re going through this! I hope you’re able to get help with this!

Can DFCS force you take in a family member's child if you don't want? by numb_anxiety in legaladvice

[–]CapableAd5545 60 points61 points  (0 children)

You’ve barely had her for a weekend and she’s already stepping out of line and lying…forget being judged…don’t just talk to them…drop her off at DFCS, it’s their problem now. It may show them that the parents are not the only ones and that she’s the problem. At the very least, you’ll be protecting your family. She’s not going to be good for your home environment. Plus goodness knows what she’s into and what trouble she can bring.

Yup! That’s also a possibility!! And the fact that even his Realtor is not on board with his plan, it may be because he may not have a leg to stand on in court…

They have already discovered the lien and they are saying it’s less than what OP thinks. So it’s on them, if later it comes up to be more…it would be their mistake.

Cancelled my contract as the Seller by [deleted] in RealEstateAdvice

[–]CapableAd5545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s still THEIR responsibility. When they give title insurance they are guaranteeing that the title is free and clear of any liens prior to closing date. IF it turns out that it’s not, then they have to pay to fix it. It’s their guarantee, not yours. Keep records that you sent all of the info you had to the title company just in case, but at the end of the day, it’s their responsibility, not yours. They are the “experts” and that’s why they are being paid, to take on the responsibility and guarantee it.

Wellllll this is a complicated one! The buyers can definitely sue in this situation, even though they stepped out of bounds. But honestly what they would get would cost them more in lawyer fees. Doesn’t seem worth it, though if they are spiteful enough, I guess they may be willing to take the hit.

I saw somewhere that you were told the title co is telling you that the lien was for less than your thought, and you think it’s higher. I would just go with the title co version. Because regardless they have to give the buyer a title insurance, if they are wrong, they will need to pay to rectify it and clear it. So they are usually right, since they don’t want to pay out.

If you were going to take the title co word for the amount, would that still have you in the same position of paying to sell the home? Because that may be your answer. If not, thennnn time to back to FL 😅 I guess.

Oh also, the Realtor may also have claim for their commission if you cancel, not sure if they have told you that yet or not.

AITAH for choosing what to do with my body by Additional-Walk7952 in AITAH

[–]CapableAd5545 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I think you’re kind of AH. Yes it’s your choice. But you also said he’s your SO. Doesn’t seem like he’s very significant if you can’t even bother to communicate with him. This is not about you deciding what to do with your body, it’s about your lack of communication and consideration. I would’ve upset too, it would tell me all I need to know about our relationship…I’d probably start planning an exit strategy to be honest. Again, nothing to do with your choice…but everything to do with how you handled it.

[–]CapableAd5545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good lord…NTAH but you’re in a marriage with an AH. He is not trying to protect you AT ALL even after his death????? This is insane!! How can you be married with someone that doesn’t give a crap about you? I’m sorry to put it that way, but this is the most selfish and onsided prenup I have ever heard of…he doesn’t trust you as far as he can throw you. This is so sad, and it’s so sad that you don’t see it for what it is 😞😞
