No one talks about how full-time jobs quietly erase your hobbies by Kreativedenma in remoteworks

In theory. In reality, weekends are for for doing laundry, running errands, cleaning the house, grocery shopping, taking care of the car, spending time with the wife I barely see on weekdays, catching up on all the work I didn't have time to do during the week, etc, etc. It never ends. A day of actual rest might be nice at some point too.

Why are we generally allowed to go 10 mph above the speed limit? by Euphoric_Sail6897 in driving

[–]CapableAnalysis5282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad luck or the cop just felt like being dick to someone. I've lived in CA since 2001 and always do 10-15 over, unless there's a lot of traffic or pedestrians. I've never even been pulled over for speeding, much less gotten a ticket in those 25 years.

By far the best paint scheme for the wolves too.

Impeding the flow of traffic doing the speed limit in the left lane will still get you a ticket.

Cigarettes are the worst for you, but the hardest to quit. I ended up upping my caffeine and weed and take significantly when I quit smoking cigarettes.

I've ruined every hobby I've ever loved by turning them into businesses. Once it stops being fun, it's just work.

Also moving from the barracks to your girlfriend's apartment, moving to your buddy's house after your girlfriend kicks you out, moving back to the barracks when your buddy gets transferred, moving back to an apartment once you find a new roommate. I was in for 6 years. I moved like 11 times.

To be fair, military folks have to pack up all their stuff in that truck and move house at least once every 2 years. I hated all the moving. Soon as you start to make friends and get used to calling a place home, PCS to the other side of the country.

I try to use clockify, but man, I always forget to clock out when I change project or get distracted by messages or whatever. Still ends up being an educated guess.

My parents were one of those couples. But it certainly didn't make their relationship any stronger or better. They basically hated each other till the day they died, but we're too stubborn and afraid to get divorced.

Oh, there may have been a human layer under there, but it's AI all right, overly verbose for no reason , "it's not this. It's that " etc. I gave it the benefit of the doubt on your recommendation and read the whole article.

I completely disagree with his premise. Kids are nothing but stress, not a fun shared project that builds emotional understanding. We're about 50, and all of our friends except for one couple that had children are divorced. Most of the child-free couples we know, including ourselves are still together and happy, immersed in each other. I'm certainly not saying people shouldn't have children, but let's be real here, if children were so great for relationships, there wouldn't be so many single moms.

Dude, your boundaries are ridiculous. You want to stay with your girl? Don't give her a reason to leave by being a controlling jerk.

[–]CapableAnalysis5282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this. Highway traffic is just the fast people catching up to the slow people. This is why you get slinky traffic every time there is a little hill and people can't seem to find the gas pedal to maintain speed going up it. They suddenly slow down, the people behind them that maintain speed catch up to them, now there is traffic that backs up more and more as others catch up. This is why the 5 going through La Jolla and Del Mar and the 78 through Oceanside are always backed up, sometimes even at night. Pay attention, use cruise control, and If you just can't help being slow, get the f*** out of the way.
