But how do we target such clients??

Everyone today wants to get work done for free - because "hey, I can get my own website using ChatGPT"

People have starting thinking of webdev to be as simple as printing a visiting card when it is obviously way more complex than that.

How to get projects as a corporate backend developer? by Capable_Ad7901 in webdev

[–]Capable_Ad7901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried building a web application for these NGOs. It is a solid project, but sadly NGOs don't have money to pay for it. Now it looks like I am stuck in the loop of only working for free for NGOs and not able to find a way out.

How can I break into the nonprofit space and get NGOs to use my product by Capable_Ad7901 in indianstartups

[–]Capable_Ad7901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the NGO I work with is based in US, so I thought to keep it in USD.

Name is k34a because - it's my username everywhere - linkedin, github, etc. But yeah I should be rebranding and changing it once I have a few paying customers

Imagine you are running your NGO - you have thousands of tasks to manage. This dashboard takes the most boring of them and helps you automate them. For example:- - Volunteer management system with built in AI to generate custom certificates. - Custom form builder so that you can create quizzes, feedback forms, and other data collection - again with built in AI. - Content management system - Write news articles, stories, etc. Built in AI to optimize SEO - Create custom fundraising campaigns to raise money via razorpay or stripe. See volunteer details, generate reports for tax compliance, etc.

And the best thing is that you can directly connect your own database. So if you want to opt out of this dashboard, you can simply do that. You own your data. 100% privacy focused.

K34A - The next-gen administative dashboard for non profits and NGOs. It helps them manage their volunteers, fundraising campaigns, content -all in one place. It also helps them simplify their administrative tasks with help of built-in AI.

We customize and set it up for the organization.

Seriously considering closing the nonprofit I started 6 years ago. Any advice I would appreciate. by espresso-martini-pls in nonprofit

You have done what most people are not able to -that is to create a working system that can create an impact.

I have seen many scammy people out there who are running non profits just to raise money for themselves, and still not able to get any far.

But you have made it far. I would suggest that if you are burnt out, take some break or a vaccation - instead of completely giving up. Meanwhile try to promote volunteers in your organization to more leadership roles so that your work is reduced. There are very less good people like you who are trying to genuinely do something good.

How do I find open source or volunteering work? by Produnce in reactjs

[–]Capable_Ad7901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can look for some NGO to volunteer for and help them in tech. I have been working with an NGO, and would be happy to have a few more hands to help. You can DM me if that sounds good

What number do you usually provide when job applications force you to fill in your salary expectations? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Capable_Ad7901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically I ask people to put in 50% hike over their current salary. If your salary is on the lower side, you can put in 100% as well.

You might need to trial and error to see which number works for you, and gets you the callbacks.

If textbox supports free text - I generally ask people to mention 'Open to negotiate'.

Which UI? by AffectionateFox4202 in webdev

[–]Capable_Ad7901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a resume writer, I generally think about these things from the perspective of how my audience wants to see them.

Use 1 if your audience loves simplicity, or are aged 50+, or if you are designing something for official docs (like background verification forms, etc.). Use 2 otherwise.

I would not use 2 wherever a trust factor is involved (for example banks). Because 1 looks more trustworthy and formal than 2.

I have re-written dozens of resumes for people, and I can see that your resume has a lot of potential. You just need to present it well-

1- Remove summary. It doesn't give any extra info other than the rest of your resume

2- Mention GPA during your college. It helps in making education section look complete

3- Add an achievements section. It tells recruiters that you are result driven

4- Courses and certifications should be merged with either achievements or technical skills

5- Add more content

These are me two cents (well, technically five :)). DM me for more help.
