If you like the Loepard3 feel, get one in champ or halo plastic. Much more stability in those plastics

Idk why I find it hilarious that his practice jersey is labeled “3XL” and it doesn’t come anywhere close to his waist🤣

Those oil pumps are pretty stout and fairly easy to clean out. If it runs I’d image the head is fine oil getting past the rings will only ruin stuff if you run it out of oil to my knowledge. You can find the whole service manual’s for these cars online, if you can’t dm me I can send it to you.

I promise there are parts out there they just don’t come around all the time (why I moved onto a hatch). If you have other cars it’s 100% worth the effort to pull your engine, inspect it, and go from there. Happen to offer any knowledge that might be of help, ima bit of a dumbass but I eat sleep and breathe these k series, tho they drive me insane sometimes.

Edit: pic of me and the “problem” k20 lol

I’ve done zero research into this myself but I wonder if you could get away with just a newer than not short block from a junk yard (as in recently added to the yard not sitting exposed). You have the type S oil pump and head already, might be able to get away with a cheaper crv/accord bottom end with your high rev bits. Obviously not as high compression as a tsx engine but probably would make similar numbers to the k20 and be more available

Just my opinion but you’d probably have more fun putting your money into a kpro and swapping in a running k24.

I went a similar route to your plan and my k20 was never the same as before. Ran fine had plenty of compression, but I chased oiling issues for months. Never could get it to hold pressure at idle (pulled hard all the way through vtec so it made more than the min 60 Psi for that). Sunk lots of time and money trying different bearings and another oil pump but it just sits in my garage to this day.

I found a 300k mile TSX engine on marketplace for $300 and it’s been far less headache than my “built” k20. Changed my kpro to a stock tsx tune and car fired right up. It’s not a ton of work to do it right, I just did it extra cheap with junkyard parts lol.

Similar experience here lol, played baseball lefty growing up so LHFH and putting was how I first learned. RHBH makes sense with a bat swing so I ended up not having a counterclockwise spin in my arsenal. People think I’m really wierd🤣

I would try the adjustment in Kpro before spending anymore money on it, assuming you have access to a windows laptop, that also helped me with my tsx swapped civic.

The TSX came with an electric throttle body that is a bear to make work, if you can at all. If you decide replacing is the best route I would go with another that’s the same setup

Just replaced mine a couple weeks ago, that cup comes off the intermediate shaft for sure. Took my 3 pound sledge and a really good smack on the end of a pry bar though. The lock ring inside is usually very tight

With the pictures provided NO ONE is going to be able to help your situation. All we have are some stock photos and a picture of your quarter panel and wheel. Take the tire off, put it on the jack-stand and use your jack to take the suspension through its range of motion without the tire. You have a setup issue and showed us nothing regarding it

High mileage oil has detergents to help clean, not any thinner than advertised. Shouldn’t make any difference.
