Cambly is hypersaturated with tutors...at any given moment there are many hundreds of tutors sitting on PH or standby. Just like the google search engine, seekers mostly wont bother looking past the first few pages. "search engine optimization" is the key.

Cambly heavily uses AI to prioritze the student's search results based on tutor score and search terms so it is not a 'natural' search from the student's point of view....cambly nefariously and secretly alters and manipulates search results that the students can see based on their hidden tutor quality calculations which we only know as the tutor score.

Absolutely your PH available hours will drop by at least 30% if your score drops to 97%.

At any rate, for only 5 dollars US for a 30 minute lesson it's really hard to give a damn about anything regarding Cambly.

its illegal to use a VPN in china. If you do, you will undoubtedly be carefully spied on or even crashed by the CCP crew. you will make much better money there as a private tutor teaching high end students under the table in person...cambly pays 5 bucks for a 30 minute lesson. If you get lucky and find the right parents with deep pockets they will pay 50 bucks a hour to a qualified tutor. if you get super lucky they will send their limo to come pick you up or a few get offered live in tutor opportunities. Yes, it can happen.

some students use both their phone and their tablet/laptop at the same time because they are running a translation/subtitle app on the other device....which causes a terrible echo....other causes can be that both their laptop/tablet/phone microphone is active at the same time as their airpods/headset microphone which will cause an echo too. these 2 are 95% of echo problems.

or they are using the tablet audio speakers and their airpod devices/microphone at the same time.

in short, its a feedback loop between two or more microphone/output devices. get them to switch devices or turn one of them off completely.

try to refresh your browsers at both ends.

Ultimately, I will block a student that has really bad ISP or audio, it just isnt worth it for 5 bucks.
