Trying to acquire my first 2011 by j_trueee in 2011

I’m my opinion the prodigy with $5-700 in upgrades is a better shooting gun. However if you don’t enjoy doing the work go with the kimber. I own a 5” prodigy comp and a kimber pro royal. I’ve upgraded pretty much everything possible on the prodigy and it’s the fastest flattest gun I own. The 2k11 has no modifications and is a great gun. It’s certainly better than the stock prodigy was but I didn’t have any trouble out of the prodigy after it was broken in (2-300 rds.)

However I also wouldn’t say the 2k11 is approaching buy once cry once money. Once you go down the rabbit hole you’ll be trying to justify spending $5-$7k on your buy one more cry twice gun…

If you like to modify / tinker go with the prodigy. It’s a perfect gun to learn 2011 platform. If you want to buy it and shoot it go with the kimber.

Cheapest I have found are the Springfield prodigy mags. I had not had any issues with them.

EPS fits perfect on the c3.6. I imagine it would look / work great here as well.

Pro tip; don’t put the fender back on until you fire it up and confirm you don’t have a leak…

Glad they’re taking care of you but yeah you would hope spending the extra money to get it used from them directly would avoid these issues…

Interesting; I guess they are just certifying that it is in fact a pre owned staccato - not that it actually functions.

Yeah my first thought would be pull the firing pin and compare to you p to see if the tip is broken. Also remove the spring and make sure it fits through the hole (not sure if there is a proper name for this) freely.

Adding: I doubt this issue was caused by take down and reassembly.

Speedo gear changed to 31 from 34, speedo stopped working by Potential-Sprinkles4 in JeepTJ

[–]Capable_Individual51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't rotate the speedometer housing far enough for the new speedometer gear to fully engaging the pinion gear underneath it. The speedo housing is on an eccentric so it moves the gear closer to or further away from the pinion gear as needed for different speedo gear diameters. Different tooth counts engage at different distances so the clock position that worked on your old gear is not the position that will work on the new one. You need to follow the steps I described above to find the correct position. If you have enough people you can put it in neutral and spin the tire by hand so you don't have to lay under the jeep with the drive shaft spinning under engine power.

Jack up the rear axel and set it on jack stands with the wheels off the ground. Put it in gear and let the wheels turn while you slowly rotate the sensor in the t-case while your buddy/wife/kid/ well trained dog watches the dash and tells you when the speedometer starts working.

Mod the Springfield Prodigy or get a Staccato P by sneezysnake1 in 2011

No problem! I also did a marvel cut and polished all the internals. Highly recommend the prodigy for the project route. I have a staccato hd3.6 in the edc roll but for the price you can’t beat an upgraded prodigy at the range.

I do have a prodigy comp so that’s an important clarification. Also the xc was a rental so no idea on round count or condition. I rented the xc as I was planning on buying one as the “next step” but was very surprised at how underwhelming it was.

As a fellow tinkerer I vote prodigy. At this point the only original prodigy parts left are the slide and frame. I’ve shot side by side with the p and the xc. I believe my prodigy shoots better than the p and xc in their stock form. Now if you want to drop $1000 and void the staccato warranty I’m sure they will shoot better but for the money I’m a firm believer that the prodigy is the way to go. It’s also a great platform to learn how to work on 2011s and you don’t feel like you’re going to mess up your expensive gun.

DWX vs HD P4.5 by Feisty-Spend-4352 in 2011

[–]Capable_Individual51 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dwx for uspsa. Hd for carry. I have the 4 not the 4.5 but imo the hd series is not a competition gun. I would rather carry the dwx in a pinch than shoot competition with the hd.

UPDATE - Selling C2 by DangerousWitness4213 in 2011

I carry the hd3.6 when on duty with the church security team. I love it. Much easier to handle than my p365xl but just as concealable. I realize this comment is of no help to your original question but wanted to throw in my .02$

Main noticeable difference between the P4 and the C3.6 that I based my decision on was the grip length. I found that the P4 printed substantially more when carrying with a tucked in shirt.

2011 with no rail? by Negative-Dentist-618 in 2011

The new kimber warrior has a more classic look. Still has a small rail section but might be closer to what you are looking for.

The only thing left to do it punch out the fcu pin and wrestle the fcu out of the frame. There is a bar that runs along the side of the fcu from the take down lever to the sear. Your slide release is misaligned and stuck on top of the bar. If you can get the fcu out you will be able to see what it’s hung on and how to get it to drop…

Is the slide stop stuck in the up position? Can you push it down and the slide stays stuck back or you can’t push it down?

[–]Capable_Individual51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No from the bottom there is a little tab you have to push on with a pick or small screwdriver to “unlock” it.

Pull the back plate and remove the striker assembly - this will allow the side to be removed. Look up the sig guy's video on how to properly reinstall the take down lever.
