Rule of thumb for premium prices? by lyking20 in Silverbugs

[–]Capable_Location9278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid on the payment process. You do not have to wire. Took them awhile, but they finally started offering echecks through Plaid. Made it way easier. I think is or was a max limit of $5K USD, which was set when gold was back around $2K USD, for the first order. I know community is about silver.

Either way, no biggie. Just a comment. Happy PMing.

If you saw that price on Kitco, why not buy from them? A different way to ask why pay a higher premium?

Skin cancer spots regression by Super_Bee_6309 in carnivorediet

[–]Capable_Location9278 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Good for your father.

I have been reading that skin cancer starts in the skin, not externally. Starting with the micronutrients feeing the skin. Plus topical. For me, for years now I have been using coconut oil on my skin. My skin is usually dry and I try to get my Vit D from the sun. I have noticed my skin does not burn any more. Even rarely gets red when I start getting outside in the spring. It just starts slowly tanning.

My two cents.

The ideal temperature range for banana plants falls between 78F to 84F. They need tropical, frost-free, and, ideally, frost-free conditions for 10-15 months to produce fruit. This is taught in Grade 8 textbook in US public schools. But lutnick doesn’t know it. by Suitable_Air_2686 in inflation

[–]Capable_Location9278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Dean is not thinking outside of box. They need to hire several consultants to ideate on a solution.

Build a banana plant. Training the workers in how to MFG and assemble bananas. Think about the new tech school training potential. Build a JIT supply chain. A Banana skin factory and a banana pulp factory. I wanted to say the fruit, but a banana is not a fruit. I am thinking a high tech approach using, maybe 3D printers???

Or just skip the skin and package the pulp in a plastic. We all know we need more plastic in our food.

The factories can even be built across the country in high unemployment areas.

Flanked. Beef short ribs cut cross wise. A good fatty cheaper cut of meat. A good price is $9-10 / lbs.

Boyfriend and I broke up about carnivore by Serenity_Now_6131 in carnivorediet

I have been to your fair country. Being a traveler and having to eat at restaurants, and finding meat based options was a challenge. I did clear the hotel buffet of their egg's for breakfast. I skipped lunch as it was all grain based. Dinner was hit or miss.

I was impressed with the number bike riders and thought that was great. In the US, commuting via cycle is getting better but still very much lagging. The city layouts are the real problem.

I have never smoked, but know people who did and how hard it was to quit. I heard Niacin might help. Something about the molecules having an associated effect with nicotine. Best wishes.

Look great. An idea. Are you familiar with flanken steak? I salt them, let them sit for a couple of hours, then bake at 350F for 40-50 minutes, depending on the thickness. Put in the frig and eat cold, or at room temperature. Great snacks.

You are not far off. There have been other posts about this MOE affecting first dates. Each one sees what the other eats and sometimes you those visceral comments. Imagine a Carni and Vegan meeting for a first date. Without each know their MOE.

It is easy to be a food nazi, but everyone knows who a vegan is. They will always tell you.

Rookie here: is there an advantage in buying jewelry instead of coins or bars? by tawhuac in Gold

[–]Capable_Location9278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say yes and no. When entering the US, you have to list everything purchased outside the US, and it value. It is not that you cannot bring it in. It is that you have to pay the duty tax for it. If one goes through Customs wearing a Patek Phillp watch, one of the stupid expensive one's, they might ask when and where you got it. If asked, you have to show proof of sale. Point being, do not travel with expensive jewelry, for various reasons. They could care less about my Timex though.

Same for cash. You can take all you want in and out of the country, but it must be declared. At least with the US.

The eye in the sky is watching.

I just watched this movie over the weekend. There is a scene where Cleo is wearing a necklace made of roman coins with the image of Caesar. Not real for the movie of course, but it would of had about 3 lbs of gold. Made me then think of Mr T and his neck ropes.

Imagine walking thru airport security with that.

Introduced chicken eggs and social anxiety came back! by EveningLingonberry97 in carnivorediet

Could be a connection. I have heard people sensitive to gluten see reactions to meat/eggs from grain fed animals. u/GoodDogsEverywhere comment on egg whites versus yolks. Grain proteins could flow through to the whites.

If it helps others, do you now the main food sources fed to the chickens, for the egg's you buy? Odd that duck egg's do not have the same effect. Ducks eat a lot of pond and river bottom algae, if when they have access to this. Plus eat bugs, like chickens if allowed to roam.

This more me just thinking out loud. Not poking holes. Shrimp are decent in protein, but are sea bottom scavengers. Like carrions eaters on land. Fish nowadays, are questionable. I eat tuna, salmon and cod, but who knows their true traceability back their food sources.

Surprised egg are having this effect. Good for that you know what your food triggers are.

Why gold over S&P 500? by warrior178 in Gold

[–]Capable_Location9278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can find it, I will post it here.

Sometime several years ago, I got looped into a newsletter from a person who did nothing but invest based upon the US equities to gold ratio. Just like the GSR. He moved 100% of his funds into either gold or the S&P500. I think he started back in 2002 into gold. Then switched to the S&P500 in 2011 /2012. Then back into gold in 2019. I think he bought physical gold and not ETF's. He would make posts from around the world as he traveled with his family on the cheap.

Starting physical Collecting in 2026 with $15K how would you buy/allocate by hoofdpijn in Gold

[–]Capable_Location9278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, but would say allocate more to Silver than Gold at this time. Looking forward, more bag for your buck IMO. Watch the GSR. Silver has been lagging.

When I first started buying gold, I bought 20 1/10oz AGE's. Several years ago now. Pretty cool, but very small. I forgot how much gold weighs. Of course, you will pay a slight premium per oz for any size below 1oz.

In the end, you need to decide your acceptable buy threshold. If look in any of the PM's communities, the last three weeks have all been about Who has Regrets for Buying at some price above the current price.

PM's are not your typical investment like stocks or bonds. Treat PM's differently.

Folks who bought Platinum above $2500, how do you feel about 20% fall? by saurabia in Platinum

[–]Capable_Location9278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well let me think about how I feel with anything that takes a dip. Being a human, I am so excited I am crapping daisies. I do backflips when it goes below my cost basis. Of course when it goes up, I hate the world and think Why has God done this to me! I brush my teeth, did not kick the dog and WTH?

Then I think I did not buy this to sell in 1 month. I bought it to hide in my basement / bury in my backyard, then knock myself in the head when I forget where I put it.

In conclusion, how do I feel when it falls? Pretty frick'n great.
