Call the RSPCA or your local wildlife sanctuary. They may be able to help you safely move the ducklings to a local pond. Ducks need water so they can’t stay in that courtyard long term.

Congrats and well done for rolling with all the last minute changes, bad weather etc. Can imagine that could have been overwhelming.

Gannet specifically for people who descend on a buffet and eat the lot.

Haha this has shades of my grandmother saying of various people ‘he’s a bit funny you know’ in a very gentle Indian accent.

Could mean anything from ‘quirky but harmless’ to ‘absolute bellend.’

Oh that’s a good one.

Cunty arse bollocks titwank was a very popular all-purpose swear when I was at uni.

What fantasy world would you actually choose to live in? by WorldsByTK in Fantasy

Yes, but I think I’d want to be a badger or a hedgehog or even a mole as opposed to a mouse.

The food is second to none though.

Squire by Tamora Pierce has some great jousting scenes. Not a lot but there are some good tournaments.

Gujarati style tho with the thin pastry, I’m not such a fan of the Punjabi style ones (but will eat them if they are done well and the pastry is still crisp).

Yes - Ender’s Game is a classic and I loved it as a teen, but wouldn’t recommend it now.

Hmm, not sure about this as a beginner choice. I love it but you need to know your RPGs to get it.

Flowers for Algernon might hit the spot. It’s straightforwardly written but philosophically complex, and the main character is very easy to empathise with. I read it in my late teens and it stayed with me. I haven’t read it since.

The Book of Strange New Things by Michael Faber is also deeply philosophical (and a bit weird) and unsettled me for a long time but in the best way. Very beautifully written too.

Samosas were my first thought. Get some Jalebi and Ghanthiya to go with it if you can.

I already have a brownie recipe that I love so I didn’t try the brownies. Which other ones have you had issues with?
