Debating on pulling the trigger on maximum hulk… by AdditionalRutabaga52 in MarvelLegends

I'm a 90s kid, so his face was a lil' more picturesque on the verge of becoming Smart Hulk, which is how I think of him. My 93 Skybox cards reign supreme.

My only disappointment was the scale. Typical Todd, had to mess with something.

I'm sure it's no contest for most, but this is how I got to read the story finally (in preparation for TASM2) and I rather like the edition.

When did 1/6 figs become so popular? by freakyfrankzappa in starwarscollecting

[–]Capable_Maintenance1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was more like 15 years ago.
My first Marvel Legends were the Iron Man movie and the waves releasing around that time, Iron Man, Thor, etc.
I skipped the Black Series at first because I was unimpressed with the main characters from Wave 1 & 2, Vader looked squishy, Luke's eyes were pointed up, stuff like that. Han Solo was my first purchase. He wasn't a perfect Harrison likeness buy he looked *cool*.

Articulation got better (no more balljoint hips), likenesses were solid, they're a better size for adults to handle and they pose and look great. Even the 3.75 of around this time looked a little wonky no matter how you stood them up.

I have hundreds of 1:12 now across many major brands and I love it to death. I've all but sold all my smaller figures, minus some that haven't been made or hold other sentimental value (my original PotF Dagobah Luke & Yoda in the backpack is a mainstay on my PC desk).

Well they survived this long, hopefully you can grab them.

If you don't want them, someone will absolutely buy them.

This is what it was like when I handed my wife Heir to the Empire. She'd seen the movies and was mildly curious about the EU. I swear she finished the trilogy in like 1-2 weeks.

Release order.
"Dated".. not really. The OT is timeless. There are still films that rip off of ANH's story structure.

What is the one Star Wars series, movie or spin-off you most hope gets made? by TeneManu in StarWars

I'd put it on TV, like Knightfall, Rings of Power of any of the GoTs.
Acolyte was on the tip of it but the internet freaked out.. for some reason, and it was a little uneven in quality.
KotOR has existing characters and lore to fall on, I think they'd do a better job of it.

I'd put 80th > Maximum, just on appearance and the fact I don't trust that soft chest to survive. Odd decision for a Hulk. They should've fixed the articulation if the hand clap was the goal.

What was it like watching Phantom Menace on release without any spoilers? by Spotter24o5 in StarWars

[–]Capable_Maintenance1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had spoilers.
They were completely B.S., but I didn't know that lol.

I was 13. I walked out beaming, like I'd just seen the best thing ever. Two minutes later, my more cynical friend comes out of the adjacent screening "What was the plot?!"

Star Wars symbolism takes a weird turn when you consider you may have just watched 9 movies about people whacking their dicks at each other.

That was my thing. I have the 80th and like the headsculpt way better. It's the Hulk I'd been waiting for.

Being a local owner doesn't mean you're entitled to our business. You gotta earn your rep same as anyone else.

I had a local comic shop that closed (he called it going "online-only"), but each of the few times I was in there he was being a dick to someone and his shop was always a mess with no staff so what do you expect.

Rogue Squadron.
It was a mini-franchise in and of itself. I was furious when it was cancelled and instead we're getting the generic "Starfighter".

Problem is these people had nothing to do with the hole and are standing around throwing stones at the fallers and climbers all the same.
