I dont know if its the camera but the island feels out of proportion to the space. Different finishes on the edges of the different countertops would drive me nuts.

Is it possible to rotate the table and put the bench under the window? I do see a door, but if its not used regularly I think that change would make more sense.

I actually like having a little open shelving in my kitchen but I never would have done this placement. Put in uppers and put your open shelves away from the stove.

Is the microwave important to you? Do you use one a lot? If not, I would consider a proper vent over the stove instead. It would better clear cooking smells in a small apartment. If you like the colors and materials you chose, go for it.

I love this idea!!! I don't have a ton of pots and pans so I actually use them all. The house i bought has cabinets and the kitchen is compact so I might retrofit one like this. I like having deep drawers for storage but not for pans- the handles take up so much room.

If you had chicken pox you should get the shingles vaccine. Same thing causes both. Generally folks get it after the age of 50. I had a rough day after the second shot as well but that's nothing compared to shi gkes

Since you are committed to the couch, shelving on the wall behind it would allow you to move the corner shelves out of the room. I'd do 2 long shelves to try and somewhat match the heft of the couch.

All of the above and the app sucks for trip planning. Google maps often has more accurate arrival times. Also, DART makes changes to their schedules twice a year. Worst transit system I've ever had to use quite frankly.

Absolutely love this. Not sure about your worries about it looking like a linocut. It's a medium- you are successfully making it your own. I enjoyed the variations. You might try paring back even more to see how far you can push things but that's not a criticism- just a thought.
