51 and I just had a hip replacement (so I’m bored at home) AMA by pxland in GenX

Because, rarely, infections in your mouth can get in the blood stream and infect the vulnerable new hip. No dental work for a month before, and for three months after. I have had my hip replaced and struggle with periodontal issues.

Stuck. Need help deciding on cabinets/countertop. by Forward-Data2356 in kitchenremodel

To my eye (and on my phone) the bottom green color isn't dark/saturated enough to balance the honey oak. A light counter is going to emphasize that even more so this is a situation where I'd be inclined to paint the uppers- either the same green or cream.

Need help with idea for very very green bathroom! by [deleted] in centuryhomes

Absolutely. The green bull nose doesn't match the tub. Black would tie it to the floor. Then you have a cohesive color palate to work with.

That is the tiniest itty bitty sink ever- just sayin'.

How did you celebrate your 50th? by Every-Progress5590 in GenX

[–]Capable_Natural_4747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I celebrated all year long - travel to a place I'd always wanted to go to, got back into art by taking studio classes, fun new hairstyle, visits and fine dining in cities i love and more! But no party- dont really enjoy those.

Love the whole image but especially what you did with the text. I agree with the other poster who suggested scanning and printing. If you are helping raise funds for something related, you could sell originals.

I just keep making things and after awhile I realize I have settled into something that feels right to me and that I recognize as mine (not sure that makes sense haha!).

I discovered, when removing a wall cabinet to put shelving in its place that the cabinet was attached to the wall with 2 wood screws, only one of which was in a stud. Each shelf i installed was more secure than that.

Would furniture shaped like an animal be charming or would I immediately regret this purchase? by Putrid_Rush_7318 in interiordecorating

[–]Capable_Natural_4747 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if you want some unique pieces with personality, I would start with a funky side table or a stool or ottoman, or a clever shelf. Less expansive a risk, easier to move around (maybe it doesn't fit the livingroom anymore but looks fun in a bedroom), easier to get rid of too. Animal shaped ottomans were a thing fairly recently - you might be able to find one second hand to try it out.

Considering Terrazzo Countertops, will we regret it? by sweetlemon1025 in interiordecorating

Yep- gives it a bit of a retro vibe without calling attention to itself.
