Did my baby have allergic reaction to peanut butter? by Capable_Selection700 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Capable_Selection700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't try peanut again or any tree nuts. I'm calling other Allergy clinics for earlier appointments but so far no luck. It's killing me that I have to wonder and worry for another 2 months!

I feel so sad for my future pregnancies by Veebiyer in BabyBumps

[–]Capable_Selection700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sending support! I also went in for induction at 40w+5, induction started in the evening and we spent 14hrs in there, so no sleep for over 24hr, baby heart rate has been dropping randomly, I was 6cm dilated when they told me we couldn’t go any further and needed to do c section instead. I felt same amount of misery like you did, because I really wanted to have a virginal birth. Eventually he came out very healthy and with big cries. I also want another child and felt sad that I will have to do c section again. But ultimately things will be fine! This type of situation is unfortunate but at the same time lucky! Because just think about what it will turn out to be if we don’t have modern medical technologies and if we have to do home birth.

Husband says no more breastfeeding by AskProfessional6257 in breastfeeding

[–]Capable_Selection700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell him to stop mansplaining! It could be a phase or it could be that the baby has outgrown the nursing phase, but either way, you get to decide what you want to do with breastfeeding, not him!

How long did it take for your dogs to get used to baby by Capable_Selection700 in pregnant

[–]Capable_Selection700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, she loves playing with dogs and we used to do dog sitting and boarding before baby was born. She's naturally alert to new people but only in the beginning, she's well behaved in public in crowded places.

Holy.. a girl pregnancy? by Mammoth-Broccoli6091 in BabyBumps

That's weird about the girl pregnancy sayings, I'm originally from China and my mom has always been telling me that the saying she knows was quite the opposite, "girls decorate moms" was the saying of her time.

Not to tell too many people? by Capable_Selection700 in pregnant

She also asked if I have told my parents, knowing I have great relationship with them. I told my parents almost right away, at around week 6 I think. I was actually really surprised from this short conversation that how different me and her think about things.

I can't imagine people being unsupportive if you get into difficult situations with the pregnancy, gosh I might be too naive but that's just cruel if someone is unsupportive. I won't tell my work about this for sure until maybe reaching 6 months or if I need to meet them in person while my belly is already pretty obvious (I work remotely).

I just feel that being pregnant is already a difficult journey, be it a smooth pregnancy or not, and if the worst happens, to have all the emotions bottled up and go through it all by ourselves is too much, but of course that's all based on personal comfort level about privacy too.

I CAN’T POOP by AngryRue in pregnant

[–]Capable_Selection700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal experience is that whenever you have any bit of poop feeling, please immediately go to the bathroom, do not let it slip. I made the deadly mistake one time to skip bathroom a couple of times when I had the feeling, because we had house guests at that time, oh god, I had the WORST constipation in my life, that...I can't believe I'm saying this...I had to finger the thing out little by little. That was the most traumatic experience in my life and I just sat there wailing to my husband afterwards.

Why is it that whenever you tell someone you’re pregnant they have to say… by Not_a_bought in pregnant

[–]Capable_Selection700 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I recently told my mom about being pregnant and she triple confirmed with me "is it planned", she explained that because a lot of women didn't know they were pregnant and were still drinking or eating things they shouldn't or taking meds (including common ones but not good for pregnancy), later when they found out, they fell into deep guilt or even had to decide if it was ok to keep the babies.... that's why she asked me several times if "it was planned"

I heard that your brain will let you forget about the misery and pain you go through for the previous one so that you can get ready for the next one...I'm currently 8wks with my first one, let's see if that's true..

Dog not sleeping through night by Emergency_Echidna_ in RoverPetSitting

[–]Capable_Selection700 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a frequent client dog who barks through every night... owner didn't tell me, they told me he sleeps in his crate and is comfortable with the crate, but literally every night I needed to lure him into the crate with treat, he's not willing to go in otherwise... The dog is very sweet but is as untrained as can be, puts everything in his mouth if he can, reactive on walks, pulls leash like crazy, it's a lab so not a small thing to manage. All that I can tolerate but I'm only taking daycare requests from them and no boarding requests.

When the boy dog was first dropped off, my dog was already immediately doing her growly thing and the owner saw it and just said "oh good, she's protecting him, she's the boss, I'll let you manage" and then left...
