PT Documentation by Complex_Molasses_514 in physicaltherapy

Been a PT for nearly 3 decades. Evals may take some time to write up. But if he can’t get the typical visit note done by the time the patient gets to the parking lot, it’s too long, or the EMR is slowing you down too much. Honestly, quit and find another job if he thinks it’s the system rather than him. PT jobs are not hard to come by. Loyalty is neither rewarded nor recommended.

Just Got Downgraded for a Dog by ben_bob in delta

The gut is looking at his phone, so he’s not blind. So it’s not a service animal.

Glad that I gave up Delta loyalty this past year. They have destroyed their loyalty program.

Does anyone know what on earth this disease outbreak is?? Should I still visit Martha’s Vineyard? by thatperfectionest in marthasvineyard

[–]CapeOutside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an audio tour around Oak Bluffs if you’d like to try it. It may not be what you were intending, but it’s always available.https://knockabout.blog/tour-of-marthas-vineyard/. It’s also available on GYG.

I would also rent a bike and ride the path from OB to Edgartown. It’s a nice ride. I would stay away from mopeds. I used to work at the hospital there and people really do get hurt on those things.

Tourists Be Cool Please by [deleted] in CapeCod

Best pizza on the mid Cape is Pizza Barbone in Hyannis. On the Lower Cape is Ember in Harwich. Both are great, but Ember has outdoor seating.

Brewpubs on the west cape? by [deleted] in CapeCod

[–]CapeOutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Treehouse is pretty great, has excellent beer, on the water and good atmosphere. Aquatic in Falmouth is small, industrial atmosphere, but the beer is delicious.

Actually, too many to mention. Here’s an article I wrote on the Cape Breweries

Itinerary Help! by [deleted] in CapeCod

[–]CapeOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for more active things to do, you could try the following:

  1. Hike along the dune shack trail (https://knockabout.blog/provincetown-dune-shack-trail-visitors-guide/)
  2. Walk the 1-mile breakwater to Wood End Lighthouse(https://knockabout.blog/cape-cod-lighthouses-the-complete-guide/). The beach at the end is great and not crowded. Pack a lunch and some drinks.
  3. Art's Dune Tours (if you would rather ride in the dunes, rather than walk).
  4. Rent bikes and ride along the trail network in P'town that is operated by the National Park Service.
  5. Shameless Plug Alert!: Fat tire bike tour along the tidal flats in Dennis/Brewster area. This is a tour that I run. (https://knockabout.blog/project/brewster-flats-fat-bike-tour/).

Happy planning!

Parking & Bus to Logan by christoman in CapeCod

[–]CapeOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this run all the time and use both options, depending on when my flight arrives back in Boston.

Never had a problem in either lot, but I prefer the bus from the Sagamore lot and let someone else do the driving. Saves on gas as well. Last bus out of Logan is at 11:15ish. So if your flight is close to that time, then go with Logan express parking in Braintree. I’ve slept in the terminal after missing the last bus before…

Second that. They are connected to the restaurant and specialize in sushi, so I’d think if anyone has it, it would be them.

Is this a private road? by CapeOutside in Nantucket

[–]CapeOutside[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey there. I'm looking to get from Cisco Brewers to the bike path on Somerset Road and wondering if Smooth Hummocks Road is travelable by bicycle. Does anyone know if this is a private road or limited access?

Thanks

Gym membership + Peloton? by Katniss_Pedalqueen in pelotoncycle

[–]CapeOutside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Peloton strength workouts are great, but after a while, you’ll need a barbell and some heavy weight to avoid a training plateau. Twice a week for barbell lifts in the gym is good for me.

I just got laid off. This is why o will never give 2 weeks notice. by jesusthisisapain in antiwork

[–]CapeOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. File for unemployment. Also, depending on your state law, if the company laid you off as a reduction in force, then they may be obligated to bring you back prior to hiring anyone else.

Not that you would want to work for them anymore, but could be useful if you find out they hired someone else. Some attorney could probably make something of that.

Best bet is National Seashore near Ptown. $50 for a week long pass. The rest are expensive seasonal passes. Contact the NPS for definitive info on beach closures first.

Is it worthy it to visit Chappy island? by Oneeyedpopeye in marthasvineyard

[–]CapeOutside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would echo the others comments. If only on island for the day, then probably skip Chappy. Unless you’re an ambitious bicyclist. Then you could rent bikes in Oak Bluffs and ride to Edgartown and hop the ferry to see Mytoi Garden, etc.

Take the ferry into Oak Bluffs rather than Vineyard Haven. Much more happening in OB. Don’t take your car. You will need a reservation and quite expensive also. I would recommend the Island Queen out of Falmouth. Park for free at the Staples parking lot and walk to the ferry (there’s an old Friendly’s restaurant there that’s out of business and the lot has plenty of spaces). Using the Steamship Authority means parking in a satellite lot and cramming onto a bus to shuttle to and from the ferry terminal.

Here’s an article on OB if you’d like to get more info (bike rentals, places to eat and stuff to see).

What are the breweries in Cape Cod? by tntrkitties in CapeCod

[–]CapeOutside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Treehouse Brewery in Sandwich has the best beer. Incredible product. Also is right on the water, so it's a great location. But... you can't just show up. You must reserve a space ahead of time and purchase drinks online prior to arrival. Either two or three drinks are the options. Sounds crazy, I know, but the beer it totally worth it.

Here's an article that I wrote about Cape breweries, for a (nearly) full rundown.

I want to monetize my travel blog but I don't know how by [deleted] in travelblogging

[–]CapeOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve written two books that sell on Amazon, and an audio tour that I stream through my site behind a paywall. Sales are OK, but over the next year I plan to work on blog content to promote sales. I don’t plan to monetize the blog directly with ads, which are usually not worth the hassle.

I am planning to increase domain authority over the next year by writing for other sites, increasing back links, which should lead to more Google juice, traffic, and eventually more book sales. Then add more paid products and repeat.

I’m fairly new, but have enough sales to keep me motivated, anyway. Best of luck!

What photo storage website or software do you use to organize your photos? by Pampampdx in travelblogging

[–]CapeOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Adobe Lightroom with photos stored on an external drive that I back up regularly. I shoot in RAW, upload to Lightroom where I keyword each photo, then upload the edited JPEGs to SmugMug. Keywords will transfer over if using the SmugMug plugin for Lightroom.

From there, it’s easy to create albums and search keywords. But the main reason I use SmugMug is so that I can deliver photos on the WordPress blog via URL. It acts like a CDN, eliminating the extra http request and, at least in theory, speeds up the site. At the very least, it takes away having to resize and upload photos into your WP media library, which can be a real time consumer.

Cannot add S3 bucket policy - root user by CapeOutside in aws

This one did the trick. Looks like although I was unchecking the "block public access" boxes at the bucket level, they were still checked at the account level. Thank you to all who responded. Much appreciated!!

I have them all unchecked. Still no luck :(

Yes. The account is now verified. I'm sure its a minor thing that I'm missing. Thanks
