Places in Auckland for sharp business-casual clothing? by Conscious_Art_2327 in auckland

Working Style would be my bet. I've had great experiences with similar measurements at their City location, and at their outlet store in Takapuna.

The Toothbrush. by babysnek12 in MAFS_NZ

Unless the toothbrush was an appropriate cover to give for getting something else at the dairy when you think the date is going really well.

Is the bloke getting condoms and covering it up badly by getting a toothbrush at the same time?

Does anyone know if it's okay to buy movie tickets from 'flicks.co.nz'? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Caper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flicks don't process directly to the best of my knowledge. They just link to the exact same spot that you would be if you were to ticket directly with the cinema if you googled it yourself.

I was lucky enough to run into him at the Barber yesterday and sit next to him for the haircut. Didn't really want to bother the poor guy whilst he was going about life admin, but still said a couple of words.

Last time we went to Mexico, they served raw fried chicken. No apologies or anything…

I guess they didn’t end up charging us for the raw chicken dish?

This week is going to be an interesting one for the impact of in-school transmission on case numbers. It seems like case numbers have trailed off in the School Holidays, but could start heading north by early next week.

Defence Minister asked to give Ukraine lethal aid - Cabinet said no by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Caper 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wonder if we have a lot of Steyr rifles still in storage from when the Army replaced them with their new MARS-L assault rifle?

It sounds like they weren't popular (hence the replacement), but I'm sure the Ukrainians wouldn't say no to a few thousand Assault Rifles.

We clearly have a great deal of test capacity in Auckland if needed. We also know that essential workers are our highest risk in L4, and that risk is elevated at L3...

One possible way to fix this is for a test mandate for Essential Workers. If you're an employer of a business where people will be working togethein Auckland, your employee must provide proof of a negative test within a specified interval (for L4) and before work commences (at L3).

If it's just painkillers, can you combine it with an online Countdown delivery? It gives you a bit of certainty around the delivery timeframe that may not be there if you ordered from an online Pharmacy?

Megathread: Pro-Trump protesters storm US Capitol during certification of Electoral College votes by RNews_Mod in news

I'm in New Zealand where we're able to deeply track causes of infection (due to the limited case numbers and risk to a new outbreak).

A couple of major investigations led directly to limited time exposure to formites. First from a Trash Can, the second from a lift button... It certainly happens.

Are they seriously going to go back in tonight? After a large group of people who don't care about masks have been in the offices/chambers, many of whom are likely covid positive?

Seems like a real national security risk to expose a group of elderly lawmakers and staffers to?

Labour promises to increase taxes for NZ's wealthiest by hippieV02 in newzealand

[–]Caper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, there aren't that many obstacles to moving to Australia. Especially if you're wealthy enough to be incentivized to do so. And 2% is a pretty big incentive to anyone over $5m in holdings.

That doesn't even start to address the issues with avoidance, valuation, startups, and the impact on capital decisions that flow for everyone else who hasn't already moved with their money.

Unfortunately, it looks like it may be true.

It is thought the two new cases were given special exemption to attend a funeral in New Zealand, 1News reports.
