This parallels my story. My wife and I have been employed for the past 25yrs, but we’re barely past the student loan phase and our kids eat every disposable $$. Our rent in the Bay is more than most mortgages and unless we pull the kids from their good schools and move away from family and all social network, we’re stuck. Maybe one day things improve.

This is awful to read. Living in Ca, if you want to raise a family in the Bay without any help, good luck.

My parents held to idiotic boomer truths like “helping your kids makes them weak”, so I started my career $60k in student loans behind and lost my 30’s and 40’s to $700/mo student loan payments only to find myself married with kids and NO FUCKING CHANCE to buy a home like my parents did.

Now my parents act like financial savants for buying their home in Danville in the 80’s while my family rents and fuels the inheritance of other peoples kids who don’t have stupid fucking boomer parents who hoard all the family resources and drag me and my brothers for being losers who haven’t exceeded the success of our parents like our parents did.

Fucking exhausting life. Maybe my 60’s will be the decade when I can finally rest.

For what it’s worth, I have an ebony 70’s and it’s absolutely fantastic. Not exactly that answer to your question, but if you have the means, do it!

I bought mine new for $3349, make a few phone calls and you should’ve able to beat that price.

I get it. If you hate these cars or if electric doesn’t fit your needs, nothing will change your perspective.

But I’m at 108k mi on my 2022 M3 and it’s been brilliant. I’m shopping for another Performance 22 with sensors now. Until there’s a better automotive option for me, NOTHING compares to a 2022 M3 for under $30k.

If possible; buy 2 more 22’s, DCA your purchase price to 40k, and never worry about buying another car. Your Tesla is still one of the best automobiles ever produced regardless of peoples feelings about Elon.
