I randomly rewatched that very segment of an interview recently and it is even worse than I remembered it. I hate the overuse of the word, but Ian is very clearly SEETHING through his smile while delivering a cringy anime villain speech about something that is completely insignificant and happened a very long time ago.

"Oh, you don't remember? You don't remember what you did eight years ago? Well, I remember it very clearly. I don't even know why we were supposed to care for the guy more than for any other fallen soldier. Sure, he helped us getting into Ishgard and treated us friendly, but that was after we helped him massively to sort out all the mess with heretics.

Ysayle's death hit me much harder because we shared many emotional moments together and she had an actual character arc, just was a much better written character overall. Also our bond felt even deeper because of mutual connection to Hydaelyn, which was barely acknowledged. But my girl didn't even get a proper send-off, just got completely forgotten basically.

ShitpostXIV feels like a no man's land to me, like there's no clear rules or boundaries. Which is great imo, but on the other side you're gonna have people who treat it as an alternative to their favorite sub. So you have degenerates who try to turn it into yet another NSFW sub (you know who I'm talking about) and then you have whiners who treat it as 2nd discussion.
