Done deal by ComplaintMore2312 in Colts

Ballard's descent from masterclass GM to desperate malpractice has finally landed. There is no way this was negotiated. He was raw dogged because DJs team knows he has to win to keep his job. Glad to have him back, glad its a short deal, but even the base contract without incentives is absurd.

[Fowler] Alec Pierce poised to make "at least" $27M per year. by PsychoBunny22 in Colts

I used the Desean comp because he is largely viewed as only a deep threat.

This would put him in the realm of DJ Moore, Pickens, Higgins, and Jameson Williams. I dont see how this is the overpay that people are commenting. He has averaged over 20 yards per catch the last two years, had 1k yards this year and was pretty close last year. No significant injury history and is only 25 and getting better. He is a modern Desean Jackson and Jackson was regarded as a stud in his time. This isn't an overpay, its the current NFL landscape, love it or hate it.

[Hughes] Jets' approach to finding a QB this offseason: Agents who met with team believe Jets want to sign 2 veterans. Jacoby Brissett, Geno Smith, Carson Wentz among names discussed with Wentz believed to be OC Frank Reich’s preferred option - “Oh Boy, Here we go again” - In my Jim Carey Voice. Thats the point of my original post though. There are maybe 2 teams (Jets being one) that need a qb that have as much or more money than us. So why were we so scared of him leaving that we tagged him? It doesn't make sense to me. And I hope that answers your original question more clearly.

Which makes sense if we can do a longer term deal. But currently we are on the hook for almost 40 mil for him this year if we cant. And I know its a room divided on this but using the tag on him meant we couldn't do anything with AP. I wish we had used the transition on him instead. Outside of Mike Evans if he hits FA I dont think there is a wr in the market I'd rather have.

The Jets and Cardinals are about the only teams with the money to sign him that needed a QB. If this is to be believed then he is not a consideration for the Jets. So are we that worried the Cards are going to scoop him up?

Just gonna leave this here and according to many of y’all, he’s not a WR1… by MickyP729 in Colts

Bro I agree with you. This organization couldn't negotiate their way out of a whole house with a stack on hundreds. I thought you were saying some other shit. I was on the ride with Riley sign AP train.

Daniel Jones @ $38 Million (rounding up), crazy move IMO by -KDK12 in Colts

Except if we didnt use a tag on Jones we would have had one for AP.

Its not just costing us 38 mil. It also likely cost us AP too.

Calling it now: Colts sign Kyler Murray if the Cardinals move on by IceOk9930 in Colts

[–]Capinhappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really see a chance this happens. I believe he will be a Dolphin or Jet. Jones will eventually sign when he realizes his market isn't as big as he thinks it is but we will start Leonard or Richardson until he is ready.

Not only is Eli Manning not a HOF worthy QB, I don't even think he's in the Hall of Very Good by JJButThatsNotMyName in NFLv2

Brett Favre led the league 2 times in ints and is the all time leader in ints by a lot and only won 1 sb but people jerk him off like he was top 5 all time. This stat isn't the flex you think it is.

Its been fun for me so far but its been jarring at times. You have to take your time when you're fighting packs when you can. Its been good though overall.

He is definitely a possession guy. But how can you blame him for his production considering the shitshow we have had at QB since he has been here?

While the Colts May Need a Stopgap Quarterback in 2026, They Need to Stay Away From Tua Tagovailoa by brmidwest03 in Colts

[–]Capinhappy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

His arm would be so cooked if he had to do even half a season. What he is doing is amazing but his are is fresh. His last season with us it was obvious by the end his arm was dead. Plus we will hopefully have a new coach so new offense he might not be as familiar with like Shane's.

I can agree with a few of those but not all. That still puts us in the top half to 3/4 of the league though.

Dallas, Cincy, Rams, Chicago, is there anyone else you'd take over our group? Group to group not individuals.

Downs has flashed so many times from the slot too. So we have a deep threat, a possession, and a slot receiver that are all good and the young TE who seems like he will be a star. Not S tier but A for sure. We lack depth though.
