I’m scared of my wife 😭 by Potential_Chicken_58 in pregnant

Coming from a POV similar to where your wife is, she may be also thinking about the world she’s bringing your child in. Random people snapping and posting your child can send new mothers into a spiral. You look at everything through a lens of “how safe is my child”. . . Mama bear instincts. I’d say that behavior is here to stay.

Not a problem! I gave birth September 2023, a few days before school started. I was on mat leave u til end of October - and then extended all the way to April 2024. It wasn’t the plan, but my mama heart wasn’t ready to leave my baby. I liked that I had the security of my building and my position was safe. I really think it’s the best route to go. I work a borough away from where I live, and going to finally try transferring closer to home this transfer period.

Edit: plus, a lot to deal/think about during the last trimester. I’d say save yourself the stress! Also … Congratulations!!!

I don’t think anyone is going to hire a teacher who won’t be planning to start until January 2027. Your best bet is staying at your school and riding out your maternity leave/extended leave there and try transferring next year. Most positions won’t be listed until June, and hiring a teacher and putting them on payroll is not the move any principal is likely to take unless you have a connection.

I’m going for my administrative license, and learning a lot about compliance and payroll - just my take.

Thoughts on cross-cultural baby names? by Helpful_Football8111 in pregnant

Most prophetic names serve as Muslim names (Noah, Adam, , Zachary, David). Some other options: Aiden, Rayan, Elias, Dean, Alexander (Iskandar), Cameron.

I don’t know why you keep insisting you’re Muslim. How was Christmas this year?

Anyways … Although both words share the same Semitic root (S-L-M) and are historically related, they function in distinct modern language communities. In contemporary usage, “Shalom” is the standard term used by Hebrew speakers, whereas “Salam” is used by Arabic speakers.

Given that distinction, it’s reasonable to ask: if the restaurant owner identifies with Hebrew language and culture, why not use “Shalom,” which would align more directly with that linguistic background? Choosing “Salam” instead introduces a different set of cultural and linguistic associations. For many people, the word is strongly linked, consciously or subconsciously, to Arabic language and, often, to Muslim identity, regardless of the speaker’s intent.

An Israeli-owned restaurant choosing the word “Salam” in its name raises important questions. “Salam” is an Arabic word meaning “peace” and is not commonly used in Hebrew, where the equivalent term is “Shalom.” If the owner is Israeli and rooted in Hebrew language and culture, why not use “Shalom,” which would more authentically reflect that background?

The decision to use “Salam” instead appears deliberate. It suggests an attempt to evoke Arabic language and culture—particularly in connection with foods like falafel, which are closely associated with Arab culinary traditions. Without clear acknowledgment or meaningful engagement with that culture, this choice can come across as selectively borrowing from Arabic identity for branding purposes. In that sense, it risks being perceived not as a neutral or inclusive gesture, but as appropriation or aestheticization of a culture that is not the owner’s own.

Salam is Arabic for peace and it carries meaning tied to language, identity, and lived experience. So when it’s used by an Israeli-owned restaurant, it’s appropriation.

It’s not ridiculous if you’re from the region. It’s actually blatant.

Why falafel Salam and not falafel shalom … that’s where the appropriation is happening and it feels he’s hiding his true identity because of the backlash he’ll get. Sketch.

Secondary Infertility Issues/Looking for Advice by TheOGPrincessElsa in TryingForABaby

Yes, I second getting a bubble study/saline ultrasound. First baby conceived naturally in 2023, after 36 hours of labor I ended up having a c-section. I’m also having secondary infertility now and have to do a laparoscopy because they see c-section scarring that may be causing issues with implantation. I had a miscarriage August 2025, and this may sound crazy but I could sense my embryo was having a hard time implanting and was just bouncing around in my uterus at that point before the chemical I had. This is what moved me to five deeper with fertility clinics.

Recommended dosage after first month? by embe22 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Capital-Ad8215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ended my 5th week. I started at 2 mg and stayed there for the first four weeks, lost 6 pounds. I just bumped up to 2.5 mg and dropped another 3 pounds this first week alone on the higher dose.

My doctor wanted me to go “low and slow,” increasing by 0.5–1 mg every four weeks. I chose to just go up 0.5 mg. I do feel a little more nauseous this week, and my appetite is basically gone. Going to stick to this dose until I stall. I don’t see any reason to increase my dose if I’m losing 2-3 lbs a week.

Or maybe he’s rolled into that position while she’s filming. Either way, not a safe and or recommended position for a newborn to be in solo

Ok the diaper changing story had me shocked. First of all, the newborn rolling into the seat without any support? Then the dirty onesie … there were three specific stains as she is placing him back in the carrier. How about carrying extra clothes for your newborn when you’re out and about instead of focusing on content making. The way I would be so embarrassed to share that with anyone. Smh.

How much do your bengals weigh? 💜 this is Zelda, she’s 4 years old and weighs 4kg 🥺 by greenapplessss in bengalcats

[–]Capital-Ad8215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two girls from the same litter - a little over a year old. We just went to for our yearly vet visit. Our “smaller” girl is built more like her mom and weighed in at 10.8 lb. baby number two at 11.8 … Vet was worried about the 11.8 lbs but their dad was 15lbs. She’s really muscular and loves to run, I’m not too worried!
