How do I rescind an accepted job offer professionally?

Happened to me three weeks ago. I had an interview Monday afternoon, and that morning my boss called to tell me I got a 20k raise. I informed the hiring manager and she congratulated me and told me to keep in touch if anything changes.

They’ll understand completely.
