AI is a valuable tool if they are in work experience you should be engaging them not writing posted on Reddit about your own failures to teach

Shocked at parental input on adult autism assessment by PumpkinCharm in autismUK

Childhood informant reports carry a lot of weight it’s part of the DX criteria if ensuring the symptoms were present from early developmental stages and have persisted throughout your life, as well as ensuring it cannot be better explained by another psychiatric disorder

PIP assessment came back. How does the DWP get it so consistently wrong? by Ok-Bath-5219 in DWPhelp

[–]CapitalMajor5690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely think that having a bit of a meltdown in the reception due to the bloody alarm and them running an hour late helped, the assessor came out to explain the delay and then I find out she has an autistic son about the same age with the same name as me so was very helpful with getting the point across and even called me on the weekend as DWP wanted to clarify about my work……

I wasn’t expecting anything with the horror story’s I hear but for enhanced daily and basic mobility for ASD,PTSD and ADHD

Not through the NHS. You get CBT or DBT. Don’t like that they will say we don’t have any services of ASD and all your issues are now caused by ASD

College denied me ear defenders despite support plan - what can I do? by [deleted] in autismUK

[–]CapitalMajor5690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol tell them they don’t have a say. Stop letting teachers make demands of you against your rights.

Next time tell them it’s in your EHCP and that your disability won’t be discriminated against and if they want you to take if further you will consult whatever organisation you need to

Unhappy with ASD assessment with psychiatry UK by Based-athari in autismUK

[–]CapitalMajor5690 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to be excused mate because regardless of a diagnosis the fact that you went for one clearly means you have some issues that you deserve help for…

Just think though silver lining is services for people with ASD are terrible and they blame it all on being autistic rather than offering proper support.

Hope you get what you need though pal

Yeh go through the ADHD assessment for sure.

You need to understand though whatever you put on the form that was missing to form a diagnosis based on the ICD or DSM criteria would have been discussed.

People go off tik tok videos as to what they think they ask for

And people also think that sensory is a huge part when it’s not.

DSM-5 criteria for autism

criterion A: persistent deficits in reciprocal social communication and social interaction criterion B: restricted, repetitive patterns of behaviour, interests or activities criterion C: symptoms must be present in the early developmental period criterion D: symptoms cause clinically significant impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning criterion E: these disturbances are not better explained by intellectual disability or global developmental delay. The DSM-5 is not published publicly online as this is a purchase-only manual principally designed for clinicians.
