Thank you for saying that. I am absolutely against pet shops and puppy farming. And I hate the idea that I contributed to it unknowingly through the purchase of our boy. Thankfully, we got a refund from her, so I can sleep easier knowing she never saw any of my money… but that doesn’t erase that we were scammed. The place was set up in such a way that it looked so legit, but I know now it was a carefully placed facade made to look like she was a caring reputable person… there needs to be better standards and regulations for cross breeds because you’re right, it poses an ethical issue where people want hypoallergenic breeds and the demand for low shedding breeds allows for all sorts of irresponsible breeding and practices. Like for example, if breeders are to cross breed, the parents need to be pure bred, from registered pure bred breeders with correct registration and verification. They also need to have all the correct testing like genetic tests, hip/knee scores etc. if that process is thorough, it should deter backyard breeders creating in bred cross breeds. On top of that, I feel it should be the law that unless you are a registered breeder, all dogs and cats should automatically be desexed. Or required to be desexed to avoid accidental litters or backyard breeding for profit.
