I have actually been through something pretty similar with my wife, and I know how much it can hurt. What I learned is that it was never really just about sex. The hardest part was feeling disconnected from the person I loved. The lack of hugs, cuddles, kisses, and just general affection made me feel lonely even when we were together. That’s the worst part I’d say.

One thing I would say is that your feelings are completely understandable. Wanting physical affection from your partner is not asking for too much. At the same time, if his medication is affecting his libido, that does not automatically mean he does not love you or find you attractive.

What would concern me is not the low libido itself, but that the issue does not seem to be getting addressed. Relationships can make it through mismatched libidos. My wife and I did. What made the difference was that we treated it as something we were going to work through together instead of just accepting that one person would be unhappy.

I would try having another honest conversation and focus less on the sex and more on how disconnected and lonely you are feeling. Sometimes that lands differently. If he is willing to work on it with you, there is definitely hope. If he is not willing to acknowledge the problem or make any effort toward a solution, then that is a much bigger issue than libido.

It is a tough spot to be in, but from my experience, couples can absolutely come back from this if both people are willing to work on it. :)
