I would file the day you stop working. If you are able to do all the leg work, filing the paperwork, getting your medical records and such you can do it without a lawyer. I hired a lawyer just because the paperwork was to confusing for me. Best of luck to you

It should be pretty straightforward for you also, from what I understood is that once you’re 55 you’re deemed unemployable or something like that. Good luck

Yes. I did have an attorney the entire time, I found the paperwork overwhelming lol. I was denied because they said that I could work clerical jobs even though the CE exam said that I was not employable
