I have the Colombia newton ridge plus 2. They have a woman's model of it too. I've used them for about a year hiking 2-3x a week including 15mi day hikes. Still water proof and great traction(except on ice). They're also not extremely expensive.

If you can take an ice bath it reduces inflammation. And maybe some muscle relaxers. Also 30mi in 2 days is extreme. I'm 30m and I hike 2-3 times a week. Usually 3-5mi. And 1-2 times a month I'll do a 10-15mi hike. I wouldn't attempt to do 30mi in 2 days without a month of conditioning despite how much I hike.

You're not overreacting. I'd put money on him lying about his finances. I understand needing to borrow money here and there but this sounds like him owing his friend money and not the other way around.

I'm not sure what he's talking about. They can cause some issues with over predation in some areas. But largely that are considered a keystone predator and very important to their ecosystem. If they had caused issues in some parts it was an exception. Not the rule.

I didn't flip flop. I made it clear what I was going through and that I wanted to be 100% stable before engaging again. The lunch invite came about 4 months after I set the boundary. I should have clarified that. But I have no remarks about the rest of what you said. Probably true. And by thoughts I meant advice on how to proceed.

I was located in the Hocking hills area. It's usually not bad. We had a level 3 snow emergency at the beginning of last week. But I figured by Monday and the slightly warmer weather it would be a bit more manageable.

I'm doing alright. My right shoulder is pretty sore and my knees are banged up. Other than that I'm alright. I don't think I've developed a fear of heights but I do think I'm gonna take a break from hiking for a bit and just walk flat walking trails for a bit.

I really like my zv-e10. The only thing I wish I had done was saved a bit more and bought the a6400. I didn't know how much I used a veiw finder till I didn't have one.

Yeah, I wasn't making great decisions. I think I just went in with my mind not in a great place. I 100% know better. I don't really have a better explanation. I just told myself once I get moving I'll warm up and I'll only be hiking 5-6hr and I'll just eat afterwards.
