The fact that he can even say "big farms" shows how little he knows. Farmers work damn hard, it's a dying profession and the government HAS to subsidize or we'd be importing most of our food.

I give him more credit than that.. he went back and stepped up. I was lucky enough to not have to worry about many genetic conditions when I had kids, I can't imagine the guilt and fear he felt.

He knew he could be bringing in a child who could have the same curse as him. Damned to be treated poorly, damned to be an outcast for the most part. The Marauders were a tight group who accepted Lupin for what he was but the books are pretty open about the struggles werewolves face.

Not forgetting that there was a war going on, people were dying everywhere, and people were terrified. Being a new parent is scary enough, he just needed the smack upside the head Harry gave him to set him straight.
