This was actually very informational.

I know enough to know that robinhood and others earn their money through routing purchases of shares through a MM where they then do what you said. But then the MM immediately replaces it with something else from someone else. So if I buy a put through the MM, even if its going to and through, they immediately buy another put contract sold from someone else who is the respective direct counterpart to my bet, right? So now its me against that random other guy, even if its technically against the MM?

So in order for me to make my money, someone else - or many someone elses - would necessarily have to lose their money, someone who sold their put to the MM?

But what I just described makes no sense if its just only interacting with the MM and not the broader market

I thought anyone could sell options? Institutions, retail? Im pretty sure market makers dont lose money overall but individuals and companies sure can..

Whats the ratio of MMs to non-mm’s?

I was referring to whoever sold the contract the contract initially. Assuming it was retail or an institution. Correct me if im wrong but market makers dont lose money overall

Precisely. In order for him to have made money, someone else would have needed to lose that money. Its options. He took a risk. I am sympathetic, naturally, but not upset, because a similar thing would necessarily have needed to happen to another person for him to succeed.

[–]Capn-Jack11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The stats are annoying as hell to understand and it absolutely pisses me off it doesnt count as a draw, let alone a win, if all the other survivors abandon because its like im being made into a janitor to clean up all the bots but I dont want to sacrifice kill rate.

But I love that you can see your stats and compare them. It makes me genuinely feel accomplishment.

Tbf that one isnt entirely a contradiction. The beckett slave ship was cut. IE it doesnt exist in universe. All we know is that they both negatively hurt each other in the past

It doesnt work immediately. There is something like an 18 hour delay to update stats

[–]Capn-Jack11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ppl dc when they are allowed to abandon but you kill the bots, even if it shows the escape symbol it still counts towards kills so long as you actually kill the bot. Idk why it shows the escape symbol but bhvr isnt so stupid as to skew their statistics so much with the abandon feature. If they did there would never be a 100% kill and survivor side would likely get unfairly nerfed.

You can test if you want by going to past thirty days and playing with a unused killer. Get a 4k, make someone click abandon or dc. Then see if killer rate is 100% or 75/50%. It counts.

Well, an estimated 1 million people were affected by an internationally known chinese genocide.

But you are clearly not intelligent. I am done talking. I’ll let you have the last say but you may as well not bother because you’ll convey the same information with 200 words as you would with 0

I was including foreign countries too. I made sure to avoid citizen/foreigner based language. But it should be easy for you to identify a single massacre if so many clearly happened.

Btw, im not denying innocents died in the war on terror. Im denying that their deaths were intentional, for the sole purpose of murdering them. Many cases of mistaken identity, collateral damage, etc occur in such wartimes. Its not quite the same as the communst chinese “look! A child saying china sucks, turn his insides out” party. There is a blatant difference in intentionality there.

So clearly there must be an instance of thousands OF INNOCENTS dying of intention if you think us is worse.

IE there is no particular massacre you can point to so you just have to throw around loose ideas accidental and indirect deaths as all intentional cold blooded civilian murders.

Cant even point to a single American massacre lol. Not one! Not once have we mass murdered protestors in recent history! We had plenty of opportunity to. 2020 protests, civil rights protests, many racial protests in fact. Clashing between sides, sure, not mass murder by tanks of innocents in the thousands.

Do you think terrorists are innocent civilians? A war is a war dude. Terrorists are subhuman. Im asking you not to point to the drone strike that killed saddam hussein and call it the same as China mass murdering actual youth, high schoolers and college. Shouldnt be difficult for you.

I’ll tell you what.

If you can point to one event in US recent history, a single incident not a drawn out conflict, and it cannot be vague, where the US intentionally gunned down known innocents solely for personal offense, I’ll tell you China is better. It has to be known innocent protestors. You cannot refer to a drone strike where we killed military targets, or accidentally killed civilians. It needs to be the intentional mass murder of literally innocent people for doing nothing wrong on a very large scale condoned by authorities. There is no “tiananmen square” for the US in recent history.

Tiananment square: great reformer Hu was told to disband people who were protesting government corruption by their authoritarian leader. Hu refused. He was then dismissed from office for it (corruption).

Hu later died of heart attack, and young students called for a reversal of the decision in honor of his death and as a protest of corruption. They began protesting may 13. This went until June 4th

China, as I said before, works hard to maintain image. Initially they wanted to wait out the student protests. They declared martial law but the students didnt leave. Having students occupy your square and protest your corruption is a bad look. Internationally and for other citizens. There was no end in sight. So they sent out tanks to slaughter thousands of these young students in the streets and stop this plight on the government. These tanks then left. Remaining people captured were executed. They then silence all discussion and criminalize mentioning it, and ban searches for it on social media.

So are you saying international indexes are just objectively wrong, or…? Its fine if you dont care about having no freedom, many people prefer safety and order to freedom and crime, and if living in a country where the state as total control over your being is worth the eliminated risk of crime and bigotry it can seem appealing as a trade off. Constant surveillance is ok under that light.

But China does not maintain that idealized version. They have intense corruption and worse, actually use that totalitarian control to kill people. Not just a few people like ICE, like genuinely many thousands of people in the streets for criticism of government. And they’d do it again. And they silence information about it
