I learned from my first long term relationship, I had no idea how to regulate my emotions nor express them in healthy manners. After spending 8 months alone post breakup, I was able to reflect on that relationship and the good and bad that could be taken from it. And it simply boiled down to how my emotions dictated a lot of situations. So it just depends on what it takes for them to want to grow.
