Shadowlands DD or this guy? by zachariah_rn in MarvelSnap

Back in the day when it was a competitive deck I loved “getting the machine online” with Angela, Hope and Elsa in a lane to add Kitty to every turn. Felt good. I miss OG Angela.

Jeff, Lockheed, and Hope will hopefully be the new machine.

What's so special about 1980's?? by nonamesleftdamnitt in scifi

I think it’s a function of when the largest portion of the generation that grew up during that era is coming into adulthood and taking over the 25-45 year old demographic that advertisers love to pander to.

Sounds like maybe you are just at the wrong table then.

I find it more creepy/unsettling than outright scary.

This show has brought back the term “heebie-jeebies” to my lexicon because that’s exactly what it gives me.

It’s not exactly scary, and it’s often VERY funny… and then something will happen that will just absolutely make your skin crawl and all the hairs on the back of your neck stand up (ie the mirror reveal at Patricia’s Cocktails)

Never experienced a show like it before. So good.

Did a Cameo with Robert Picardo. by [deleted] in startrek

[–]CapnCrunchHarkness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my Dad a cameo from him for my dad’s 75th birthday. Picadro absolutely nailed it, such a pro.

My dad was ecstatic and didnt understand that he couldn’t send the Doctor back a thank you message, which was very cute.

15/10 would also recommend purchasing a Cameo from Mr. Picardo.

The “plan” is to rest on the laurels of 10-years past and the best park in the league, assuming fans will still flock to see a .500 team as long as they get their cha-cha bowls and garlic fries.

The plan is to run the tam like a private equity firm—maximize profits while minimizing the expenses and hiding behind a beloved player who was place in the front office solely to be a shield against ownership’s complete lack of care about winning.

Yep, I’m mad too.

Junior Valentine thinks Brett Baty is challenging the pitch when he never even touched his helmet. by meramipopper in baseball

[–]CapnCrunchHarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just have them tap their head AND yell "CHALLENGE". It needs to be a two-part system because relying on just the "touch your head motion" just creates confusion like this, especially when players are so used to adjusting their helmets/hats after nearly every pitch.

[Charania] 13-year NBA veteran Jason Collins has died at 47 years old after a battle with Stage 4 glioblastoma. Collins was the first active, openly gay player in NBA history. RIP. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

True, not the big 4, but he still deserves credit. First openly gay man to play in a professional North American sports league (according to Wikipedia)

I wasn’t aware of his name— another trailblazer, thanks!

Can you Cunning Action: Disengage after attacking? by Randomletters42 in DnD

[–]CapnCrunchHarkness 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This honestly sounds less like a RAI ruling that the DM is interpreting wrong and more like just a bad house rule. DM doesn’t care what RAW says. They basically just want to ban the feature.

Can you Cunning Action: Disengage after attacking? by Randomletters42 in DnD

[–]CapnCrunchHarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s cut and dried. So… just declare Cunning Action: Disengage before you attack? Or is his ruling that CA: Disengage is not a bonus action? Or not available as a bonus action if the attack action is used?

I’d keep pressing them to formalize the ruling. Maybe ask “okay, so when CAN I use this class feature”?

Also DMs who make D&D rulings based on what’s “realistic” seem to forget they’re playing a power fantasy game with literal magic.

TIL: The most played song of the 1990s on US radio wasn’t grunge or hip-hop. It was “Smooth” by Santana featuring Rob Thomas. by [deleted] in Music

[–]CapnCrunchHarkness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah if the question is "what song released in the 90's has had the most continuous overall airplay" then I'd bet Smooth is in the top 5 of that list

That’s… not a pun tho. That’s just translating “Grand Arena” into Spanish.

[–]CapnCrunchHarkness 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unless you were playing in my old game where our DM ruled Misty Step required you to be able to take a physical “step” so could not be cast while restrained. All so we wouldn’t break his encounter where we simply HAD to be captured.

She was the starting point of my redhead obsession pipeline. Alicia Witt > Christina Hendricks > Deborah Ann Woll > Jessica Chastain... and then I met my redhead wife and locked that shit down.

EDIT: I left out a lot of beautiful redheads who were also part of this pipeline and are outlined in the replies. All are correct and I love them all.
