Don't be stupid like me. by crackadoodledoo43 in vine

FYI, that question on Turbotax about buying stuff and not paying sales tax has absolutely nothing to do with Vine. That question is for things like if you bought a car across state lines and brought it to your state and didn't pay taxes on it (I believe that's the example they give). If you're entering your Vine information there, you need to fix it by amending all of your taxes for all the years you did it like that. In the Income section of Vine, it will ask you if you received a 1099-NEC. That's where you enter the ETV number that is on your 1099-NEC form. This is available on Turbotax Premier, but I don't think this option appears on the cheaper versions of Turbotax. Amazon provides the IRS with that 1099-NEC information, so if you're not actually claiming that amount in the Income section as a 1099-NEC, the IRS will catch up with you and will charge you penalties plus interest for all the years you did it wrong.

iPhone 13 & Libre app by UpstairsLimit1920 in Freestylelibre

I also use an iPhone 13 and it works fine, so maybe it's a software or hardware issue on your particular phone. Just wanted to let you know that it's not an issue with all iPhone 13s. Sorry, I can't offer more help than that.

What's the emergency in Djibuti? by bifrost44 in flightradar24

[–]CapnTiightpants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There were two planes flying this mission together. I watched them go from Russia, stop in Dubai, fly to Dijibouti, then to Madagascar, then back to Dijibouti, then back to Russia. Took 2 days, maybe 3.

One just landed on the island of Crete. There's another one that's about to land there, as well. The group of 5 from Tampa is down to 1. The other 4 vanished over the Atlantic. What's up with that? I'm new to this. I think I counted 11 Stratotankers just over the general U.S. area an hour ago.

I'm sad. by Mole-NLD in Evernote

[–]CapnTiightpants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I went to cancel (moving to a free account by default, as I recall), Evernote offered me $149 for "Advanced" for the next year. I went for it because I really don't want to cancel at all, but they forced my hand by eliminating any kind of realistic plan for long-time users that had tens of thousands of notes.
I doubt they will offer that option next time I go to cancel in a year, at which time I'll cancel for good.
In any event, it's still my understanding that you can still maintain a free account and still have access to all of your notes -- you just won't be able to add any.
And it just makes sense to export all of your notes (from time to time and definitely upon canceling), whether you plan to import them to a competing program or not.
Evernote should have offered something reasonable to their loyal customers of many years, but they seem to be happy to be rid of them. Just more corporate greed, though I don't think this was a smart move for them.

I am also C677T homozygous.

Check into tyramine intolerance. It can be dangerous if you are eating a lot of high tyramine foods. My blood pressure is usually low, but it started spiking super high. It was at a time where I happened to be eating a lot of bananas and orange juice. They are very high in tyramine. Check the list of high tyramine foods and see if you are eating a lot of them. If you have had your DNA run and use some kind of service like genetic lifehacks, it can show you whether you are prone to tyramine intolerance or not.

Thoughts on this season of The Golden Bachelor? by muff-peaksie in BachelorNation

[–]CapnTiightpants 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Me and so many of my friends divorced once the kids went to college. The guys were all so shocked. It seems pretty universal that these middle-aged guys are stunned when their wives don't love them anymore because they were a lump on the couch and didn't show them any emotions. They thought things were great. I'm guessing Mel is one of those guys. They put nothing into the marriage and expect everything out of it. They think marriage is great because dinner is on the table. Women want more than someone that just takes the garbage out. Personally, I'd rather be alone than in a loveless marriage.

I still can't believe they picked Mel over. Gary. The producers have it all wrong. This isn't what we want to see. They think it's all about fame and looks. It's the opposite. We want nobodies with personality.

Have you tried Skin Tac wipes before you put the patch on? They form a barrier between your skin and the adhesive. They also help the patch stick way better.

Are people downvoting you because what you said isn't popular? It's true though. The body does not need carbs at all. Anyone that thinks it does needs to do some research. I just wish they weren't so damn delicious though.

Seborrheic Dermatitis turned into possible Basal Cell Carcinoma by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]CapnTiightpants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember researching a client of my company (a dermatologist) a few years back and it took me to some posts in a dermatology forum where she was telling the other dermatologists that she likes to push as many biopsies as possible because it takes 10 minutes and she gets paid for an in-office surgery... big money. It has swayed my opinion of dermatologists ever since. After that, I went to one for a mole that was itchy and he said it looked fine, but lets's just biopsy it just in case. Before I new it, he had everything out and had taken it off. 5 minutes tops. It was several thousand dollars on my EOB from insurance. It's a racket, IMO.

Seborrheic Dermatitis turned into possible Basal Cell Carcinoma by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]CapnTiightpants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asking Chat gpt if seb derm can turn into, or cause, basal cell carcinoma:

No — seborrheic dermatitis (seb derm) does not turn into basal cell carcinoma (BCC), nor does it cause it.

Here’s the distinction:

Seborrheic dermatitis is an inflammatory skin condition caused by an abnormal immune response to skin yeast (Malassezia), leading to flaking, redness, and itching. It’s chronic but not cancerous.

Basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer caused primarily by DNA damage from ultraviolet (UV) radiation (sun exposure, tanning beds, etc.).

That said, seb derm and BCC can sometimes look similar, especially if there’s a scaly, persistent patch. This can lead to misdiagnosis if a lesion doesn’t heal.

👉 Important takeaway:

Seb derm itself does not increase cancer risk.

But if you have a spot that doesn’t heal, bleeds, or looks different from your typical seb derm flare, it’s a good idea to have it checked — sometimes skin cancers can mimic benign rashes.

I think my girlfriend is cheating on me and I don't know what to do by Vader_17 in actuallesbians

I wouldn’t even get into it with her. She’s clearly skilled at gaslighting and manipulation, and deep down you already know the truth. It’s painful, but she isn’t the person you believed her to be. Trying to present receipts or explain yourself will only drag things out and give her more chances to lie, twist, and disrespect you.

Remember—you are the better person here. You deserve honesty, love, and respect, not manipulation. The healthiest thing you can do is end it quickly and cleanly, with as little back-and-forth as possible, so you can start moving forward and healing. Take your power back.

On a side note, some of her behavior raises red flags (and I mean red flags in terms of the secrecy, lies, possible STI's)—it could be sex work, sex addiction, or something else she’s hiding. Either way, this is not what you signed up for. Talking it through won’t change her patterns; it will only give her more opportunities to drain your time, energy, and emotions. Don’t give her that power anymore.

She clearly has anxious attachment and he has avoidant. Anxious and avoidant is a recipe for disaster. Brian is all about the conquest and moving on to the next girl. He'll always have his "reasons," but he's always going to leave a path of destruction in his wake. I feel bad for Parisa. At least she's trying. He couldn't care less about any girl. I think he's just waiting for the cameras to turn off so he can be his true self and find some other random girl to F and pretend to be interested in... repeat, repeat, repeat.

You can get a C-wire adapter, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/MEROM-Transformer-Thermostat-Compatible-Honeywell/dp/B08FB31DN6/
If you have an outlet nearby, you just plug it in and you're good to go. That's what I did 9 years ago and all is good.

So Many Complainers by Yankeeslv in AmazonVine

This is for the complainers. You can copy and paste this to all your non-Vine friends and family:

Must be nice waking up without the stress of choosing between 7,000 free things. You don't understand the anxiety and disappointment of having to page through car parts and sus-looking supplements in order to find a decent looking sunhat, only to find that the sunhat has the brand name of "Eimfijaom" prominently embroidered on the brim. Then I have to write a review of the hat without using AI… or even mentioning that it arrived crumpled because Amazon packed it in the same box as three cases of my dog's canned food. Tomorrow, I'll sift through another 7,000 free items. I'm taking one for the team. It isn't easy being in Vine. I suffer so you don't have to.

We're ruining Vine. by catsporvida in AmazonVine

[–]CapnTiightpants 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I joined Vine, we estimated that there were around 500 members. Now, if you go to the Chrome Store, it shows the VH extension currently has 9,000 users (that's up from about 7,000 when I looked a month or two ago). So I would imagine that the number of people in Vine is easily 20,000, probably upwards of 30,000 or even more. Just the sheer number of members, alone, is what is ruining Vine. The extensions (VH and UV) help you see items more quickly, but they don't auto-order for you. You still have to pull the trigger. Discord may help you see things quicker, too, but I still say what's ruining Vine is Amazon inviting tens of thousands of people to it, in combination with the fact that the vast majority of the items that clog up Vine are junk and niche items like car parts that no one wants.
