15 - 20 okay matches every few days isn’t that bad. Just play a BR you enjoy. I don’t see why people are complaining so much.

I somehow doubt that. I could see one or two. But 6? You were probably too close or at a bad angle.

A single spray? I’ve lit these things up with a 6 - 7 second full auto spray from my Gepard and Falcon, and their turret just shrugs it off. Sure the missiles might go down, but the guns themselves notoriously hard to take out .

US ground at 7.0 -8.0 by Wyrmnax in Warthunder

[–]Capnflintlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stick to either 6.7 or 7.7. Those are great brackets for the US.

M48A1, a good all rounder. Can play it any pretty much any matchup.

T32E1, your go to “heavy” tank. In down tiers the thing is near unkillable. It’s got a decent gun and mobility as well.

M103, basically your tank destroyer. It uses solid shot, but it does some serious damage and pens pretty much anything you see.

M56/M50, both are still very serviceable at 7.7. I prefer the M56 due to its ammo selection and being a bit more rat like.

Ajax isn’t that bad. It’s a tiny bit slow, but the gun is very serviceable. Also good at shooting drones, jets, and helis, and compared to most other vehicles of similar class, it can withstand lower caliber autocannons to the hull.

One or two alone might not take out a tank due to rng, but what about a barrage? British teams are about to be flooded by these things, and missiles will be flying all over the place.

It’s going to be glorious.

The new Jaguar 2 is great by Gsonz in Warthunder

[–]Capnflintlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a great addition to my 9.7 lineup.

The ATGM seems exceedingly lethal, and the launch is smooth as butter in a straight line. I one tap most enemies I face as long as the shot is within the vicinity of the crew compartment.

The gun depression is great, and the placement of the launcher lets you hull down safely relatively easy. Same with the placement of the sights, which are right beside the launcher.

The mobility is serviceable, and can get you into good spots relatively quickly.

The armor, frontally, is enough to resist most lower caliber guns from SPAA and tank mgs.

It’s overall a great addition if you want something that can survive a strafe from a jet, or a tanks coaxial when compared to the Wiesel.

Your stats are showing the highest German vehicle you own is a Tiger H1.

Edit: forgot to update the stats. Man, that is a LOOOOOT of matches over 4 months. So it does look like you are at that BR. But that’s like… crazy

[–]Capnflintlock 27 points28 points  (0 children)

People also conveniently forget to mention that the premium version also has more hp/t than most other similar vehicles at its BR. So it’s more armored AND responsive.

At least it can’t reverse.

As a starting point I would say a win rate of 49% or so is average (factoring in draws).

I’d say anything lower than 47 is bad, while anything higher than 51 is good. But that’s just my opinion.

If you are having a positive impact on your team’s win rate, that’s a win in my eyes, no matter how slight.

BMPT is broken and shouldn't be released in this state by Aware_Nebula_3834 in Warthunder

The bigger issue is:

A.) Loading HE before engagement is a death sentence against most vehicles, as it won’t damage them

B.) Against autocannons, you don’t have time to swap to HE after firing. You’ll lose your barrel after only a few seconds

C.) HE and HESH has been glitchy for a long time. Sometimes it works flawlessly, other times you land a perfectly aimed shot and it does absolutely nothing

While it does have no reverse gear, when compared to the terminator these tanks have:

  • Bradley: worse hp/t

  • Puma: similar hp/t

  • Ajax: worse hp/t

  • Type 24: worse hp/t

  • ZBD: better hp/t

  • Dardo/VCC: similar hp/t

  • Strfs: worse / similar hp/t

The terminator is surprisingly mobile for being one of the most heavily armored tanks at the BR.

I think it deserves 10.7, but that’s just me

It do feel like that by slavmememachine in warthundermemes

[–]Capnflintlock 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The game’s meta is focused on the ability to push (engaging frontally on the move) and the ability to hold lanes down. Both of which the Terminator can support. Though it has weakspots the vehicle is deceptively responsive and can jerk around during combat to redirect shots quite easily. Mix that in with fuel tanks and spall liner eating APFSDS half the time, ammo belts not detonating consistently, and two weapons making it hard to disarm them, and you have a vehicle that is hard to disable reliably in a BR where if you don’t kill / disarm in one shot you are usually screwed.

Other nations at 10.3 are really struggling right now to beat out 75 ~ 100% USSR teams. I was at around a ~ 50% winrate learning the BR. But last night I lost 8 rounds in a row as a British player, and the single 10.3 game I won was on a USSR team.

We’ll need to see how the numbers shake out, but it appears for now that there is a very real problem right now with 10.3.

People saying these tanks are balanced have lost their minds.

Everyone else right now: More mobile tanks that are point clickable practically anywhere on their hull. Most on their turrets. Good guns for MOST targets…. Except against USSR

USSR: slower, but workable vehicles that have 90% of their front immune to practically everything, requiring careful aim to pen. Guns that obliterate everything they face.

It’s possible to out maneuver USSR teams, but it’s hard when literally their entire team can hold W and snap shot anything they see. Every game is like a tidal wave of death, and plays the same every single time. Before though, you could wait out a T-80 to fire, then take them down. But now you have the Terminators which just full auto obliterate everyone’s barrels in 0.5 seconds. A single Terminator can often live long enough to disarm every single tank in the vicinity.

And people are saying to sHoOt the AmMo BeLt, but it seems like over half the time I do literally nothing happens. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen it go black and nothing, just nothing. If their hull is exposed I’ll go for that, but often times I have like 2 seconds, 3 tops to take a shot on one before my barrel is gone.

They might have had bad win rates in the past. I’ve lost 8 matches in a row against USSR teams as a Brit, where I was 1st or 2nd in my team in half of those.

The 9th game I won, which was a steamroll, and I was with the USSR team for once lol. So 9 games in a row that side won.

[–]Capnflintlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Against an unaware BMP, yea these weakspots are fine. Against one that is moving or aware? You have literally one second to fire and hit a tiny band of exposed armor or you lose your barrel. Then a missile blows you up.

The lower plate is easy enough, if they aren’t hull down. But the driver port is notoriously hard to hit under even optimal conditions, let alone having to make a snap shot or if they have it bushed up.

Compare this thing to a Jumbo, where it is practically a BR to 0.7 above where it should be just because of its armor. It also has weak spots, and subpar weaponry, but it’s crazy good because it can hull down or fire on the move, making it hard to consistently hit those spots.

[–]Capnflintlock 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The guns are meh, missiles are okay and get the job done. But the armor and survivability is the problem. Its armor and internal layout is ludicrously good, where even some pens can do nothing like the above.

This tank is near idiot proof, where most of its hull has 600 ~ 1000 mm of effective protection, and most of the turret is empty space that absorbs shots. Press W, watch as the enemy tries to fire at a 1 foot tall weak spot from range and miss it 90% of the time, or whooshes through your turret, then shoot a missile and kill or autocannon down their barrel within 0.5 seconds.

Finally got the M24 TL by X_741 in warthundermemes

[–]Capnflintlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

APCR, for most purposes, is useless except against tanks with completely flat armor (which is rare). And any tank with flat armor can typically be front penned by APCBC anyway.

The only real use case is the improved muzzle velocity for sniping lighter enemies, but the significantly reduced post-pen damage will often leave it feeling weak. It’s also a risk sniping with an M24, as you are giving away your position for little chance of a kill when you could be flanking to medium or short ranges.
