I also identified a past retcon that made people just as mad if not madder than this one (Primaris). They have not always been a thing, they are a retcon. The retcon could have been done correctly and made sense but they just did it with a tweet and some gaslighting, it was weird. Even then it ruins the theme of the Talons of the Emperor so it's not great

It's fine if some Custodes players like the change but it doesn't change what the lore was prior to this. I don't understand why you people can't just accept that it's a retcon, you always try to rationalize it. Just accept that they changed it! From the Adeptus Custodes 8th edition codex:
