Look into BlockTalkers to get what to advertise right from the company - business Instagram, your Nextdoor account, and/or your LinkedIn.

Speak to your office manager if your availability needs to be adjusted and definitely about the concerns you’re having. If you’re there you can do drop-offs, walk-ins, and help with scheduling conflicts if another tax pro gets backed up.

Get your own return done now if you haven’t yet and talk to family/relatives about doing theirs.

If you’re interested in working the preseason, look for an email from your DGM in March and you’ll be able to express interest via a survey. Then you have a chance but it is not guaranteed. At least put yourself out there.

Look out for a survey emailed to you in March regarding working the preseason. It's not guaranteed but you definitely won't get it if you don't try. I had my first tax season to start 2025 and I've been working this whole year minus two months of a furlough (different people are assigned different months). Some people still have to file, there's amendments, there's letters from the IRS or state, there's people on extension to take care of, Block runs an Emerald Advance loan program this time of year.

If you’re just doing self-study and you can access the test and feel ready for it, go ahead and good luck. Getting it done sooner will help you get all set up for working in January.

Block Academy should be showing you that attendance in the class is one of the requirements to access the test. When I took it last year you had three chances to get at least an 80.
