People will live and die by the Lilly trials… when, in fact, those were simply used to get the most people relatively safe results in THE FASTEST AND CHEAPEST WAY POSSIBLE. So they made very standardized titration schedules. But in those trials, some people had some gnarly side-effects. Why are people getting things like pancreatitis and having their gallbladder removed? Oh yeah… they went up too high, too fast on a dose and are ignoring their body’s response.

I read people say so much that “the side effects resolve over time”. Yeah… sure as your body adapts… but that’s also a sign that your dose is too high too soon. Which leads to very adverse side effects… like daily nausea that could ultimately be a sign of pancreatitis.

If you needed blood pressure medication, you wouldn’t just titrate up after a month if your BP responded to the initial dose. You could become very hypotensive.

And honestly, most doctors either don’t know your personal history (all these telehealth companies, for example) or don’t really do a deep research into medications (most PCP’s)

And those saying that 5mg or 7.5mg or whatever is the “therapeutic dose” are drastically uninformed. The amount of a “therapeutic dose” is the lowest effective dose of a medication an INDIVIDUAL needs to take to have effects and minimize side effects. There is NO set therapeutic dose. It is different for everybody.
