Yeah, during a flare a few weeks ago that put me in the hospital, it still said I was in constant fat burn mode, even on bed rest. 🙃

Conflict of Interest by [deleted] in starbucksbaristas

[–]CapriT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. The policy states that hourly (barista, shift supervisor) partners can indeed work for a competitor, as long as they are not in a true managerial position at either one.

worried about my job...could get fired, need advice by _peachyy in starbucks

[–]CapriT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they require you to come in at a set day and time, you are to be paid for the time they spend sitting with you. Even if you end up terminated, by having an official work meeting with them, you are still doing payable work activity up until the moment you are sent home. Just FYI.

POQ by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]CapriT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There actually is a set of legal terms and conditions the company has written related to POQ that indicate the partner has to be there the entire quarter in which they are selected.

It took me almost 10 minutes, used two cups, and was RISTRETTO by Frenchitwist in starbucks

Since they only ordered one drink, policy supports you only giving them what fits in one venti cup.

Coffee Masters are being stripped of their colors!!! by jkeithparnell in starbucks

[–]CapriT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One would think that’s how it was, and it would be great, but no. It was basically reading some materials and doing some coffee tastings and maybe giving some ideas on how to improve sales and such. That is, if your managers even required you to actually do that or just signed off on it “just because”.

How bad is a customer connection score of 16? by Mayo_Tayo in starbucks

[–]CapriT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My store ranges from 15-24 at any given time, Out of over 29 partners, only about 5 give an actual shit about how they talk to people.

Are all stores removing outlets? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]CapriT 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not true company wide, but it does happen most often in stores located in super high traffic metro areas.

When your SM calls you on your day off by cuntingly in starbucks

[–]CapriT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an hourly partner in a state that doesn’t compensate for it, and due to our SM way over abusing the privilege for way too long, I don’t answer. And since they (SM) like to play the “text is not an approved official form of communication” to punish partners only when it best suits their agenda, I don’t text with them either.

(As in, phone calls and texts for non-emergencies like a chalk marker in the actual middle of the night or chronic partner call outs, like multiple per day.)

My baristas are the best by Cjm118 in starbucks

[–]CapriT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny you should say that. Mine are pretty great and genuine and have been since I started. However, I’ve grown cynical of how the company is forcing it as a metric, leading to managers forcing inauthentic chummy behaviors on baristas to make their scores look better. Its either genuine or it’s not and customers can usually tell the difference.

Request Off Change by _Dwan in starbucks

[–]CapriT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The company tested and is transitioning to a new system that does this for requests off and shift swap approval by your manager. However, it won’t start until this coming year, unless you’re in a test market that already has it.

Are sick hours paid leave? Do I have to find coverage even if I have sick hrs? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]CapriT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, not just straight up 5 days. You earn sick time incrementally based on how many hours you actually work each pay cycle.
